Kia Optima wagon

Last Updated:

I remember last year, back when they unveiled the Sportspace Concept (Red car above). Kia mentioned that  there wasn’t going to be a wagon version of the “then” Next Optima.
Now we know that was all BS…

This will probably be sold mostly in Europe. Where it will compete with wagon versions of the VW Passat, Ford Mondeo, Opel Insignia, Renault Talisman, Peugeot 508 and even the Mazda6.

  1. Having this available in the US would change my mind on the 2016 Optima. I currently feel the 2011-2015 models are the best in comparison, unless this is available as an option.

  2. Very nice! I hope the US gets it, and it inspires Mazda to bring the 6 wagon here. Not much to choose from in our market if you don't want an SUV.

  3. If the concept and recent prototypes ring true, Mazda will likely be bringing the 6 wagon here in 2017, but it will be reskinned and Outback-ized and renamed the CX-7. As far as the Optima wagon goes, I think Kia should try it out in the US, but I doubt that will happen.
