Mercedes GLC Electric Video.

This is a short “official” video showing the all-new Mercedes GLC Electric (OR GLC EV, or GLC with EQ Technology.. Or whatever they decide to call it…) in action.

And yes, it basically looks like a compact SUV hiding behind a huge, ghastly, and vulgar grille. Mercedes has decided to add this grille to everything that is coming, and it won’t be pretty. (Imagine the next C-Class EV with that grille…) After a series of unpopular EVs, that somehow didn’t “look enough like a Mercedes”, this new design direction is far worse.

Just adding a big grille where it doesn’t belong won’t solve their problems. Sure, now everyone will know it’s a Mercedes. And from what we’ve heard before, it seems that’s the point and the only thing that matters now to the old brand.

They’ve distilled the essence and history of the brand down to one element, that huge brille. It seems that without it, they don’t know how to make a true Mercedes anymore.
