Next-generation Nissan Sentra.

As you can see, car above is actually the Nissan Sylphy, produced by Nissan/Dongfeng for the Chinese market. Which has so far been the same car as our North American Sentra. So it is basically our next-generation Nissan Sentra.
Soon the Sentra could be Nissan’s last sedan in the US, with rumors of the Altima being canceled after the current generation.
The new design does look mostly new. At least it seems Nissan won’t be pulling a “2024 Camry” on us, and the new Sentra already seems to have much more than just a new front end and rear lights. However, it also looks like something that cae out years ago. And not really more mdoern than the currentn version. At all. That front end alone is quite busy and not an improvement.
While they’re at it, why not introduce the US to their really cool e-Power Hybrid technology? This is something they’ve been producing and selling in other countries for years. Currently, the plan to introduce e-Power in the US is sometime late this year or early next year. That alone would give Nissan a good reason for a new Sentra. One that could really go against the Honda Civic Hybrid. With probably even better MPG.
Nissan is in a bad spot right now, and they desperately need something to stand out. It looks like the new Sentra design might not really be that original at all, but the e-Power tech could save the day.
With over 152,000 sold last year, I’m sure Nissan dealers will be happy to see a new, more modern Sentra for 2026. One that could be even more popular.
