Future Cadillac convertibles video.

What better way to kick off the weekend than watching a video filled with new Cadillac convertibles? Something we haven’t truly seen in decades?

There was a time when Cadillac offered several convertible models. The most iconic, of course, was the Eldorado, which remained a symbol of American luxury for generations. Later came the Allanté, and if you go back even further, you could even find a Coupe De Ville convertible. Those days feel very far away now, like a different era of design and ambition that prioritized style just as much as comfort and prestige.

On a personal note, I remember, years ago, seeing actor Roddy McDowall often driving around in his red Cadillac Eldorado convertible. And years later, in a red Allante. These were apparently his favorite cars…

Today, convertibles in the luxury segment are mostly left to Mercedes and BMW, while the only American soft-top still standing is the trusty Mustang. It’s a shrinking niche, one that seems to fade a little more each year as SUVs and electric vehicles take center stage in the industry.

The video above offers a glimpse of what could be—what might happen if GM ever decided to bring back a Cadillac convertible. Not an ultra-exclusive, half-a-million-dollar showpiece like the Celestiq, which already feels out of reach and possibly off the table anyway. But something more attainable. Something designed to compete with cars like the Mercedes CLE. A true modern luxury convertible without a billionaire price tag, blending performance, elegance, and open-air freedom in a way only Cadillac once mastered.

It probably won’t happen. Deep down, we all know that.

But for a few minutes, why not enjoy the fantasy, imagine the possibilities, and start the weekend dreaming just a little bit more than usual?
