2028 Honda Crosstour Preview.

After seeing the Honda Hybrid Sedan Prototype a while ago, we now have a rumor about a possible 2nd generation Crosstour coming up. Something we mentioned on this site a while ago.

We still don’t know for sure if the prototype is a preview of the next Accord or Civic. However, it seems to be the Civic since a new Accord is not due for another couple of years. At the same time, the new rumor mentions a new Crosstour coming out as soon as late next year as a 2028 model. And that it would be based on n the new Accord.
I personally think that is this was a 2028 model, it would have to be based on the next-generation Civic, itself coming soon. A Civic Crosstour would make sense. Especially if the next Civic does grown is size.

The sedan prototype already shows a fastback/hatchback shape. Which could mean a Crosstour version could look more like a wagon. Something that would compete better against the Subaru Outback.

The illustrations above show what a new Honda Crosstour could look like. One that would be based on the new hybrid sedan prototype, with a redesigned front end and a more wagon-like rear end.

Who knows, it might be close…

  1. I would like to see a new Crosstour as much as a new Element. Honda’s lastest designs have just been almost too conservative lately though.

  2. The Civic and Accord share platforms now and in the future. A new Crosstour like vehicle has been rumored for a couple of years now. So it’s already in the engineering phase. One could say it will use the new Civic platform, it will be stretched.

  4. Betting that this is the next Accord. There was a rumor of the Accord changing body style next gen, more Crosstour like. The next gen Civic can hold down the sedan market by itself.

  5. Sorry to be this way, but this enter Honda sedan prototype design is a nothingburger.

  6. The rear render is below average but I have seen worse. The front looks really dated in the render. It looks even older than the dated looking Prologue front end. I also don’t like the greenhouse. Especially towards the back.
