US Fiesta testing in California
Last Updated:
Is this really the US version? (It still has the space for Euro plates)
Why would they still be testing the Euro version in the US???

Jesus H. Christ. Why the delay? Just f*cking bring it over, Ford. Get your ass in gear.
I'm already tired of the damn car.
Seriously…The Ford MBA hype on this thing is obnoxious…Just like the character of a useless MBA. It is already old and in need of an refresh.
I doubt they'd have a different hatch (and hence license plate area) just for the U.S. model. It would be a rather pointless redesign unless mandated by safety regs.
thats s too smal f or here
Ive seen these in the flesh. Nothing special or stand outish.
Just the mainstream.
I hope they take their time testing it, considering the total disaster the last Euro Ford was in North America. Anyone remember the Contour (aka Mondeo)?
A friend of mine worked for Ford at the time, and he says mechanics would go out of their way to avoid working on them.
I agree, i worked in a ford dealership and when the mondeos used to drive in to the workshop, the mechanics used to run and hide.
Eventually one of them had to draw the short straw.
Ford's not waiting because of anything to do with the car — they're waiting for the factory to BUILD it to be ready
whats there to test. get that son of a bitch on the market before bankrupcy court hits.

I doubt they are testing for reliability.

Then why advertise something you already make but cannot build?
This charade is stale.

Well, you do have a large douche bag.
This is a great car for its market segment. After all, it's not trying to compete with an Escalade.
This is why the big 3 in America are dying out. They all move at the blinding speed of a tortoise when it comes to bring new and exciting product to market, while Asia and Europe run rings around us as the hare!
It is a great little car, we had them here and real people were really driving them. I would guess the previous poster is corrett, they are getting the line up and running. There have been a huge hit in Europe, it may unset the long standing VW Golf as Europes best selling vehicle.
I've seen a lime green one tooling around this part of L.A. It's beautiful.
Vince,
It is more than likely the US Spec Fiesta platform but just running with a European hatch. That isn't uncommon.

Completely disagree.
I was at a Ford press event about a month ago and drove one.
It is light years ahead of everything in its class. The interior was incredible for an inexpesive vehicle, with soft touch plastics and a dash made of beautiful materials.
Oh, it drove really well too.

Exactly.
The people commenting on here are stupid.
"Just build it already!"
Yeah buddy, where are they going to build it? The factory isn't ready…
Doesn't Ford have a dozen or so of these things that they've given to kids to blog about? So what's with the testing now? I agree with everyone else… just get it here already. The hatch, not the sedan.
That seems to be the problem. Everyone is getting sick of these because they take too long to get here.
GM seem to suffer with the same problem.
Anyone remember what the Volt is??

And you dont seem to be all that better yourself.
Where are all your credentials.
Seriously.
Don't most cars (that are sold here and in Europe) have a wide plate area to hold Euro plates? Why would they bother making a different hatch if they didn't have to?
Anyway… I don't think they are still testing them… the car will be here soon. There are already a whole bunch of people who are driving them in different US cities as a marketing campaign.
