What everyone said would happen, did happen.
All these big truck based SUVs don’t sell anymore.
The latest victims are the Navigator and the Expedition.
Their plant will be idled for 9 weeks. Four more than expected.

12MPG trucks aren’t all the craze anymore. Thank God.
Expeditions sales alone are down 43%.

  2. I’m glad to see these things going, especially the p.o.s. Navigator. I know it’s a bit soon into this fuel crisis that we have but I’m suprised to see how many suv’s I still se on the roads and in store parking lots etc. That’s a lot of money for gas. I don’t know how people can do it.

  3. Everyone said this would happen… Even dipshits like me knew that $4/gallong gas would make this happen, yet Ford, GM and Chrysler and to a lesser extent Nissan and Toyota continued create these monsters of the freeway.

    I am surprised there is any market left at all. Their sales fell by 43% but this means they still have nearly 60% of last years sales. Maybe $5/gallon gas will kill another 25%.

    People who buy these monsters should have to pay a higher tax rate for such needless excess.

  6. They should stick 4 cylinder engines in these SUV’s 🙂 Market share would go up about 50% and then drop again when people find out how powerless they are.

  7. Rappers don’t even drive navigators u idiot.They drive Lambos,maybachs,chevys,rolls and other crap.I love the Navi and Expedition,they might turn them into crossovers soon anyway.Also where’s the MKS review Vince?

    Who said they did? Better yet, who cares what rappers drive?

    The Navigator is the epitome of gross design excess. It’s a pig with lipstick…just like a 1959 Cadillac. Thank you, Ford, for killing this automotive abomination. We will be seeing fewer and fewer of these disgusting creatures clogging our roads.

    The world is a better place now.
