2011 Mercedes CLS

A nice looking car, for sure.

Until you remember the current model. Which still looks 10 times better and more original than this.
That’s usually what happens with 2nd generations of great and original design.
It’s just not as good.
Like the current Z compared to the previous one, or the TT, or the next Beetle.

The previous generations were all much more original.

  1. I absolutely agree! I have always liked the CLS, but this one just looks like any of the others but in the "sedan/coupe" form. It's a good thing I don't like MB or I would actually care.

  3. Though the front-end is an improvement, the rest appears completely devoid of the elegance and grace that was the 1st generation.

    Those silly rear fender flares are just awful!

  7. it srsly lost all the elements that makes it a true sporty looking 4 door coupe, now it's in the same league with all the run of the mill lets-flatten-the-pillars-remove-the-central-back-seat cars all there.

  8. I totally disagree with you about the Z and the TT but I agree with you about this car. This looks much less edgy than the first gen model.

  9. IT's gorgeous and fresh. The current one may be sex on wheels, but it had to be updated someday. And I totally disagree about the Z. The new one has a stylish, flowing, angry look. The last one just looked fat. Also, the original TT may have been more original but was impossible to see out of for anyone over 5'10".

  10. The current one is sexy. This is completely generic. It could be the no-name anonymous car used in insurance ads.

  11. Wow, you must drive an Aston or a Maserati or something, if you think this is generic. It may not be as hot as the current one, but you will never mistake it for something else.

    A judge issued an $85 fine to the owner of a Pontiac G8 GT for illegal tail lights, despite being factory-installed and approved by the US Department of Transportation. She's promised to keep fining him till he trades it in for a different brand of car. I doubt these new Mercedes models will be legal there either!

  15. all i see is the 4 door, where's the coupe?

    no seriously there're probably more coupe in hyundai sonata and mazda 6, not that they look better than this CLS, but certainly it's just a largish sedan to me
