New Toyota EV.

Last Updated:

Toyota is teasing an all-new EV that will be coming out very soon. Let’s see what it could be.

The vague official PR word is:

Toyota is taking the wraps off an all-new battery electric model. The new car presents a sleek and stylish coupe design with a spacious comfortable and versatile interior and elevated driving dynamics. Its development is inspired by Toyota’s heritage of creating products that have strong emotional appeal and give wider choices to customers.

The all-new Toyota will be revealed at 23:01 GMT on 11 March 2025.”

And that’s it…

“Elevated dynamics” sounds like a Crossover/SUV thing. It’s not just a hatchback version of the Chinese BZ3 sedan. The 3rd and 4th images show the Sport Crossover Concept and its production version. Back in 2023, Toyota was saying this about the concept:

Toyota presented its Sport Crossover Concept for the first time in Europe, previewing a new battery electric model that will join its electrified range by 2025. Revealed at Toyota’s Kenshiki forum in Brussels, the concept displays a sleek aero silhouette and distinctive fastback lines that will make it a design icon for the company’s dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV) line-up.”

That basically means the European-designed new model will be sold in Europe in 2025. Which matches the teaser above.
However, the teaser’s tail lights seem quite different from the Crossover Concept. And look more like the “bZ Compact SUV” concept that was shown at the Los Angeles auto show in late 2022. I saw it in person and it looked great.

Since the Sport Crossover Concept is already coming to China, and was shown in Europe, it would be logical. But the bZ Compact SUV as well.

Either way, this is something that is definitely coming to the European market. And of course, there is no word or mention of the North American market. Where Toyota has only one EV. And its other ones have been pushed back a year.
