2026 Volvo S90.

Last Updated:

Just like the Volvo XC-90 SUV, the S90 sedan is not dead yet. It just got a refresh for the 2026 model year. A refresh we will never see over here since the Volvo just discontinued the S90 in the US due to the new tariffs. Since the s90 is produced in China. The revised model isn’t coming to Europe either.

The Volvo S90 sedan started production back in 2016. And quite amazingly, it still looks really good today, inside and out. I personally think the update is a step backward. The car seems more generic than before, and most of that Volvo personality seems gone.

It’s a different story inside, where they managed to improve a bit on that great interior. Without ruining it.

The PHEV model gets a 50-mile EV-only range. In the optimistic Chinese test cycle, that is. Which is probably still decent enough for most buyers. Otherwise, other available powertrains seem unchanged. And there ar enough news about a revised V90 wagon. Which means it might just be the end of the road for the good old Volvo long roof…
