Mazda EZ-60 PHEV.

These new photos of the Mazda EZ-60 show a new version with a range extender.
There are no specs available for the new model year, except that the range extender trim uses a 1.5-liter engine.
However, the EZ-6 sedan is already available with a 1.5-liter range extender, and specs should be very similar. The 1-5 Liter engine in the sedan produces 94HP and is paired with an electric motor producing 215HP. 2 battery packs are offered, with 18,9 kWh or 28.4 kWh. The larger battery pack achieves an EV-only range of 99 miles in the Chinese test cycle. It would be around 80 miles EPA. Which is pretty fantastic.
These numbers are, of course, for the sedan, and the Mazda EZ-60 SUV’s EV range would be a bit less.
Both the EZ-6 sedan and this new EZ-60 SUV are very interesting cars. With the SUV design looking much more modern than anything Mazda offers over here. Even the new 2025 Mazda CX-5 will probably not look remotely as modern as this.
Mazda has other plans for us with a brand new model based on their own home-grown platform, starting next year.
Can I just say it? Spelling out the brand across the back in separate letters needs to be O.V.E.R. as a trend. When you have basic brands now doing it, its time to stop. Also looking at Jeep who spells out the car’s name (WAGONEER) across the front. Its time.
I wish Mazda would return to their original font, and just put it together on one spot at the side of the trunk lid, like before. Like saying: #toomanybadges… Its over. [End rant]
