Kia’s US pickup.
Last Updated:

Kia is officially working on a brand new mid-size pickup for the North American market.
Which is good news and also means we will never see tth ghastly Tasmam truck over here. Whre it would have been competing with the eTesla Cybertruck for most nauseating vehicle on the road. Instead, Kia is developing a brand new model just for us.
One that will have to be built locally due to the good old “Chickn Tax” from the 1960s. (And that’s without mentioning the new tariffs).
We are now seriously studying how to get into the pickup truck market in the United States through a different model that is not the Tasman.” says the CEO. All I can say is Thank God…
The new pickup is also rumored to be an EV. Which would be quite interesting and something no one else offers yet.

Last year, Kia was testing a pickup model obviously based on the Kia EV9. Which led many to believe something like this was coming soon. The illustration on top shows a different design. That means one of these is completely wrong…
The Kia EV9 starts at $55,000. Not cheap. But you’d think a pickup version would be quite a bit cheaper. maybe under $50,000. Which still seems expensive for a mid-size pickup until you see the Honda Ridgeline’s $41,000 base price. With incentives, a Kia EV9-based mid-size pickup might not be that much more.
Aparently we wont have to wait too long for more news since kia will mention,or reveal, something about the new pickup on Monday.
