2026 Toyota RAV4.

This new illustration (at least new to me) of a possible 2026 Toyota RAV4 seems pretty realistic and matches all the spy shots we have seen so far.
The general shape seems a little bit softer, however, some details actually look more angular. Like the lower part of the profile and the area ahead of the rear wheel. As we noticed before, the rear end is more upright in the new model.
The design will still be familiar to owners of the current model around the world. And that’s what Toyota wants.
The new Toyota RAV4 is also rumored to be a new hybrid-only model in North America, with an updated PHEV model with a longer EV range as an option. That EV range is rumored to reach 75 miles in the Japanese test cycle. Which would still be above 55 miles EPA. That would be quite an upgrade from the current 42 miles.
Toyota has mentioned that all-new 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter engines would replace the current 2.5-liter engine in their future hybrid powertrains. It seems that a 75-mile EV range could only be the result of something more efficient than what the currently used. Maybe one of these new engines will be ready for the 2026 RAV4.
An updated and “better” RAV4 will no doubt stay extremely popular around the world. And will keep the new SUV on top of the charts around the planet. Last year was its best ever with over 475,000 sol din the US alone. An amazing number since 2025 was probably the last full year of the current design. With over 40,000 more units sold than the previous year.
