Toyota Compact Cruiser.

We first saw a teaser of Toyota‘s upcoming smaller Land Cruiser model at the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser unveiling (2nd image). Since we have seen many illustrations trying to guess what the real thing could look like. One of them being the 3rd image.

Today we finally have something more concrete about Toyota’s Bronco Sport fighter.

The patent image above shows the real thing. And it does look like a cross between the Land Cruiser, the FJ Cruiser, and the 4 Runner. But smaller. Which was expected.

It also looks a lot like the 2022 Toyota Compact Cruiser concept above. Back in 2022, the concept was an EV.

The official name is still a mystery. Toyota recently trademarked the name “name Land Cruiser FJ”. So, why not…

Same thing with the platform and powertrain. Although I would expect this to at least be a hybrid in the US. With a PHEV as an option. Or even an EV version available;e just like the new Lexus ES that is offered in both.

  1. this reminds me that Honda really needs to bring back the Element to the US. With their hybrid AWD system, it could really fill a gap they have in their SUV lineup – which is more lifestyle focused but less expensive than the full-on v6 Passport (most trims are Trailsport). Urban activity is a real thing and the low height of even the AWD Element made it that great urbban activity vehicle for people with kids, dogs, etc… but without the $50k car payment.

  2. It will take some money to gain refinement, but Toyota is leaving money on the table if they don’t make a Lexus GBX or whatever it would be called out of this.

    A baby Lexus GX would sell so well.
