Lexus ZC.

It looks like Lexus has just filed some new trademarks for future upcoming new models. One being “ZC”. Which could mean a brand new 2-door EV coupe from Toyota‘s luxury brand.

However, “coupe” could also mean more than 2 doors. While the illustration above shows what a new Lexus 2-door coupe could look like, the brand also showed teasers back in 2021. (2nd pic).

The black and white photos did show a whole new family of cars replacing the current IS sedan. Showing a pair of wagons as well as a 2-door convertible. There are also many other brands using the “coupe” label on SUVs. The “ZC” patent was filed in Europe just 2 days ago. Which also probably means a smaller model. Not an LC replacement.

More recently, Lexus showed a LF-ZC EV concept. Which was a sleek, fastback 4-door sedan. The new “ZC” is probably the production version of that concept. In effect, replacing the IS sedan with an EV.

Since the LF-ZC was rumored to go on sale by next year, this makes sense.

Something close to this stunning concept would be a great replacement for the current aging Lexus IS. It would also look much nicer than the new Lexus ES sedan.
