Next-generation Hyundai Tucson.

It seems we are now getting new illustrations of the next generation Hyundai Tucson almost every day now. Of course, some seem pretty realistic. And others seems to have been done by a 9 year old nerd with a 1990’s computer.
I posted a spy shot of the real thing at the bottom. Showing what the real thing looks like under camouflage. So far it looks more like a Kia than a Hyundai to me. And I think the third illustration from the top is probably the closest one to reality. (Although Hyundai’s head of design recently mentuioned he has grown tired of lightbars…) And yes, it still looks a lot like a Kia…
I actually really like the current generation, and with over 206,000 sold last year alone, I guess I’m not the only one. The illustration above shows something rather strange. Some sort of design stew that includes the Santa Fe, the new Nexo, and some Ioniq design cues all mixed together to create a strange, almost disturbing concoction.
I understand next-generation Hyundai designs are very hard to guess, since Hyundai, unlike Kia, seems to have very different designs for each of their new models. The new 2026 Palisade not only looks 100% different from the previous one, but it also doesn’t look like a big Santa Fe.
So far, the only hint we have is with the new Hyundai Nexo. Which they claim is showing the brand’s future design language.
Currently, the Hyundai Tucson is getting more and more popular every year. Needless to say, this is a very important model for the brand in North America.
The current generation started production in 2020. And received a “facelift” in December 2023 for the 2025 model year. That all points to a new generation next year for the 2027 model year.
