VW ID.Polo.

It looks like VW is still not ready to show us the production version of their 2023 ID.2All concept. Which has now officially become the “ID.Polo”. A timid name change that doesn’t completely get rid of the “ID” name for their EVs. But that’s just a matter of time.
Just like the concept, the production version promises Golf interior space in a smaller Polo-sized car. As you can see from the top image, there will also be a more powerful GTI version of the new electric Polo.
And the production version of the small SUV based on the Polo (previewed by some illustrations a couple of days ago) will be called ID.Cross. While we don’t get the small T-Cross SUV over here, the electric ID. Cross is scheduled to make it to the US in a year or two as VW’s new, cheaper EV.
As you can see from the pictures, the production ID. Polo looks almost exactly the same as the concept we saw 2 years ago. Which is fine, but neither very modern nor even retro-looking. A sort of generic VW shape we have seen many, many times before.
We will see the real thing next Monday. And a concept version of the ID. Cross this coming Sunday.
