Could the 2027 Hyundai Crater look like this?

One of the biggest draws at the Los Angeles Auto Show was the all-new Crater concept by Hyundai. Showing what the brand could do beyond the XRT Line they already offer on most of their models.

The illustrations above look quite different from the concept. Which I think might not happen. The Concept’s design is so good that there is no reason for Hyundai to produce something that different. Of course, many details and features from the concept will be modified, but probably not totally redesigned. The concept also reminds us of the many spy shots we have seen of the upcoming 2027 Hyundai Tucson. A very angular shape with very thin LED lights.

Hyundai says the Crater concept is based on a compact platform. That means it won’t be going against SUVs like the Honda Passport. The production car will be smaller, less expensive, and probably vastly more efficient.

I am pretty confident Hyundai will do a good job bringing the Crater concept to production. An affordable off-road compact SUV will be pretty refreshing. And something that could finally go against the Ford Bronco Sport.

  1. It’s a breath of fresh air compared to the ugly shoe boxes they’ve been putting out lately.
