First official photos of the new 2027 Kia Seltos.

These images are the very first official photos of the next-generation Kia Seltos. And they do look lik emost recent illustrations we have seen of the new SUV. Except maybe not as boxy as some.

It seems Kia did its best to make sure the new Seltos desogn had zero originality or personality. As it looks exactly like a cross between the Kia EV3 and the new 2027 Telluride. Which is quite a shame.

it also looks a bit like a smaller Kia EV9. With a bit of EV5 thrown in. It seems that basically, all new Kia SUVs look the same now. Again, this is pretty sad.

The shrunk 2027 Telluride design is much more angular and more aggressive than the current generation. Which is a trend these days, especially for SUVs. It also includue a huge fake plasticky grille with very small openings, just like the new Telluride.

The current model came out in 2019. But was only launched in the US as a 2021 model. US sales have been steady since launch and even increasing a bit. To almost 60,000 units last year. Which is actually better than when it came out.

The new generation is also rumored to bring a hybrid option, which would make the small Kia SUV even more popular. But we will have to wait a few more hours to find out about powertrains and see the interior.

  3. This actually turned out to be a very well executed redesign! It looks really sharp and carries its more modern new look very well! It’s much better done than the hideous new Telluride, which was a complete disaster!

  4. The front looks good/modern and unique enough to me. The rear could use some work. I don’t love the style of the EV3 taillights.

  6. Maybe in the facelift for this even though I like the front now, they could connect the pieces of the lights in the front a few years from now.

  8. It looks fine, it’s sleek, modern, and clean. If SUVs have any personality, you tend to be negative about them and say they are vulgar. Lose/lose situation.

  9. I’m already on the record at saying that Kia designs are attrocious. But I have to admit, this design seems to fit the proportions and size of the Seltos, whereas it just looks horridly vulgar on the larger vehicles with all that plastic cladding and visual nonsense.

  10. This is nice. And what would be wrong with the Seltos looking like another Kia. Jeep and Mazda models look like each other. Audis look like each other. BMWs look like each other. So why is it a problem if Kia wants to have their models looking like another Kia? The math aint mathing Vince.

  11. And besides the EV5 isnt even coming to USA. So why would that be a problem that the Seltos takes design cues from the EV5? Now if Hyundai and Kia started cloning like GM and Ford that would be a shame. But they are not doing that.

  13. Awesome! If Kia would offer it with a heated steering wheel, then I would definitely consider it! The new Nissan Kicks offers a heated steering wheel, let’s see if Kia follows suit with this great looking competitor!
