2027 Jeep Renegade Preview.

After an 8 year run, the cute little Jeep Renegade disappeared from our land in 2023. And it seems an all-new one is on its way for 2027.

Just a few days ago, Stellantis unveiled its plans for the future. And Jeep will be getting most of its US investment money. Which will include a new “non-EV” powertrain for the Recon. And other news as well, including future hybrid models and updated platforms for several North American vehicles. Apparently, a quick image of a new small Jeep model was also shown to the press during the presentation. The image above shows what the next-generation Renegade could look like. (It is not the actual image shown by Stellantis)

A rather strange move since Jeep has been offering the small Avenger in Europe for a few years now. It came out as an EV and is now available in other powertrains as well. But the Avenger is already about 5 inches smaller than the old Renegade. Which is rather strange, since the Renegade would normally be slotted under the Avenger in Jeep’s growing lineup of compact SUVs.

The car shown at the investor days also looks a bit like the new 2026 Jeep Compass, which is not sold in the US yet, but is expected here next year. However, the Compass is longer than both the Avenger and the Renegade. It also appears more upscale and expensive than either smaller model. And, we have already seen the new Compass…

The one image quickly shown by Stellantis could also show a new US-only model, since we’re not getting the Avenger. Maybe it is also that $25,000 Jeep EV Carlos Tavares had promised us a couple of years ago. Now available as a Hybrid. Or who knows what, really. Stellantis could still surprise everyone with a completely new strategy for smaller Jeeps in North America.

Either way, a new small and blocky cute Jeep is on its way…

  1. Vince, nobody wants that crap. Stop trying to force Evs on us . The renegade is coming, and it will NOT be an ev the us doesnt want that sh!t. Every post you’re forcing EV’s on us. Like you want every car to be EV why? 22 years ago when you first started this website from the blogspot.com moniker you were not like this. What happened to you? Yes I have been watching this page that long. I have been tuned into your website for 22 years. And it seems like all you care about is electric vehicle vehicles. We don’t care about that sh!t like I seriously want to know like do you not care about regular combustion engines no more? What happened to what the US consumer wants? Everything does not have to be hybrid either some people don’t want a hybrid. Like can you seriously tell us what happened to you that you’re trying to push every post about a car coming out being an EV?

  2. Wow. Reading comprehension isn’t high around here, is it? (Someone takes themselves too seriously. Take your meds, have fewer tantrums.)

  3. I don’t have the impression Vince Burlapp is forcing EV’s on us. I feel he’s just giving us current Auto news and Mr. Burlapp’s articles seem to have more details than some other on line blogs.

  4. To Blackhawk Bond 007:
First, thank you so much for being a reader of the site for so long. I really, really appreciate it.

However, I am not pushing EVs on anyone. I just report on what is going on. And Stellantis will indeed offer most of their future cars as EVs and other choices like Hybrids and PHEVs. I have nothing to do with this. I am not running Stellantis.
Saying “nobody wants that crap” is just wrong since the EV market share in the US is almost 6%. Over 216,000 people have bought EVs in the US this year already. That’s not “nobody”.

Again, I am not a manufacturer of cars and do not “push” EVs on anyone.
