Future Jeep models.
Last Updated:
Stelantis let out the future of the Jeep brand all the way up to 2027 at an investor presentation recently.
From the image above, we can see that by 2027, Jeep will offer many more models, including the recently introduced Wagoneer S EV and the Recon EV. We’ve seen the Recon as a concept and should discover the production version later this year. It is expected to look exactly like the concept.
As you can see, by that time, there will be 3 other new models as well. The first one to come out will be an all-new Jeep Compass, rumored to be based on the STLA Medium platform. From the top image, it seems it could be introduced around the same time as the Recon. Which means later this year or early next year.
The unnamed new SUV model will be the new Jeep Cherokee, based on the STLA large platform. However, the Cherokee name might not return with the next generation.
The most important bit of news from that meeting is the return of the Jeep Renegade as a $ 25,000 EV in the US. “Very soon”. Whatever that means. The new Renegade will use a cheaper LFT battery and apparently will qualify for the federal incentive. This means that a low price of $25,000 would include the $7500 incentive.
While a $25,000 Jeep seems impossible, a $ 32,500 model “before incentives” seems much more realistic, since it will probably match the new Kia EV3 price. (However, the Kia will not qualify for the incentives).
Jeep is already offering an EV in Europe with the Avenger. Although it starts at around or even above $40 000 in most European countries.
In order to be that cheap, the new Jeep Renegade EV could be based on the same platform as the new 20,000 Euros Citroen e-C3 EV. That new small platform will also be used by the upcoming Fiat Panda, Opel Frontera, and a few other Stelantis models. It seems to only way for Jeep to offer such an inexpensive EV in the US soon.
Good to see Jeep getting interesting new models. And that $25,000 EV could stir things up…
