Jeep Wagoneer S Trailhawk.

Last Updated:

A Trailhawk version of the all-new Jeep Wagoneer S was introduced as a concept. And will probably become a production version of the new Wagoneer S within a year or two.

Besides the obvious off-road bits outside, the Trailhawk concept gives us a glimpse of other versions of the Wagoneer S interior. So far we’ve only seen the top-of-the-line “Lunch Edition” trim. A loaded model with everything available and 3 screens inside.

This version shows the other dashboard that will be available as well. One that doesn’t have the ridiculous passenger screen, and especially, that 3rd screen on the console for climate controls.

The dashboard design is revised and looks much nicer this way. The climate control screen is being replaced by a small row of switches under the center screen. It’s just a great and really good setup.

It also looks 100 times better than what could end up being its competitor, the new Toyota 4runner Trailhunter interior.

The Toyota has a ghastly interior with the usual absurd tablet stuck on top of its dashboard. The new Jeep interior is a work of art when compared to that mess.

As I mentioned earlier, the $ 72,000 price of the Launch Edition is the most expensive trim. Something well under $ 60,000 will be available later and will end up matching its ICE competition in price after incentives.

  1. Hi Vince, I agree with you about the constraint Jeep has shown with a more modest screen set up. I am hoping that some vehicle interiors will take this route than the route of screens taking over every possible square centimeter of interior real estate.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out in our impending robo-taxi/self-driving cars world. Quiet and serene or screens of some sort on all doors, roof, back of seats, and more? Make my taxi a Library Taxi, please!

  2. Following up comment re: Wagoneer S dashboard, this concept is a huge improvement vs touchscreen hell. This vehicle is back on my watchlist for 2-3 years from now.
