2028 VW ID.4 Preview.

The photos above actually shows a new Chinese market VW model. Called the ID.Aura T6. But it does look very close to the spy shots we have seen of the new, redesigned VW ID.4 for 2027 or 2028.

The Aura T6 is a bit longer than the current ID.4, by about 9 inches. Which is quite a bit. But the new ID.4 might grow as well. The photos above actually look a lot like what the VW ID.4 prototype could look like without all that camouflage. The rear seems a bit more upright on the Aura, but that could also be the distortion the spy photo. Or a longer 3 row version for the Chinese market. That little quarter side window up front looks exactly the same. As well as the front door notch under it. You can also guess a very similar final front end under the camouflage.

I know the revised (yet not all-new from what we’ve heard) ID.4 is almost out. But it seems VW could save some cash by not offering two totally separate models in what is basically the same segment. It seems the brand is in financial trouble right now. Again. With talks of laying off over 100,000 workers and cutting their models by 50%. Combining things that are about the same size and look 99% the same doesn’t seem like such a bad idea.

Even if the ID.4 ends up quite different from the new ID.Aura T6, the two will basically look almost the same. And these images are probably a very realistic preview of the 2027, or 2028 VW ID.4.
