2027 Honda Avancier Could Preview the 2028 CR-V.

Honda has just released teaser images of the upcoming 2027 Avancier SUV. The Avancier used to be a large Wagon sold in Japan many years ago. It has since become an SUV sold in China for the past 10 years. It is now being redesigned, and looks a lot like the upcoming 2028 Honda CR-V…

The spy shots above show the Avancier and the next-generation Honda CR-V for the North American market. Both models will be based on Honda’s new “Honda Hybrid” platform. That will use a new 2.0 Liter engine and is claimed to be around 10% more efficient than the current Honda Hybrid models. Which I don’t think is such an improvement, but who am I…
As you can see, the front ends of both prototypes are very similar. Which makes sense since they share the same new platform. It looks like the big plasticky front grille will finally be gone and replaced by something much sleeker and more modern.

Since the Avancier will have 3 rows of seats, the rear end design will be quite different from the new CR-V. While the CR-V will abandon its classic vertical rear lights, the Avanicer is goinf for a much more angular look. Something that is actually reminiscent of new and future hyundai models. The Avancier is also obviously much longer to make room for extra humans inside.
The new Avancier will be released on December first. It will also go on sale in Australia for the first time, where it will be positioned above the new CR-V. Which is interesting, since it might also make sense for our North American market.
Over here, the much larger Pilot starts at around $42,500. While the CR-V starts at $31,500 (However it goes all the way up to $43,000). I wonder if Honda is also considering expending its lineup in the US by offering the 3 row Avancier over here. As an “entry-level” 3 row SUV.
We’ll see…
