Actually it always had a V8, they just added more horsepower so the owners of theses cars can crash into supermarkets quicker. The Nav is new so the owners can leave the wrong turn signal on for several blocks further in advance. But here’s the scary part, this and the other placeholder, the DTS, actually sell quite well for whatever reason. I guess there still is a segment of the car buying audience that want a car that drives like a Buick.
the big buick already had a v8, if you opted for the baller top of the line model. the one with 4 vents is a v8, 3 is a v6.
You guys are right. I always had a V8 available.
I don’t know what happened to me….
Hey, the the cheezy shinny navigation is new, right??
Agh, who decided that fake aluminum with fake wood would be tasteful?
Hey, this geezer thinks Buicks are pretty cool but I’d be more prone to own one if they dumped that silly Lucerne name and renamed it Roadmaster or Super or Invicta or Wildcat. Silver metallic dashboards are in. They’re like front side fender vents. Everyone from the Mini to the Taurus to the Tiburon to the Range Rover has them. But ONLY Buick has “Holes” in the side.
Spending too much time with the Ford LTD wagon again? Yeah this Buick did not launch with a nav, so its new to this car. Seems Vince you are falling into the badge engineering marketing trap.

Sounds like you’re ready for a Lucerne or an Avalon. Can white shoes and early bird specials be far behind?
My dad has one. I always keep notice of the age of the driver whenever I see one so I can tease him.
But in truth, it drives very well, as well as any FWD big car anyway. Sharp handling and responsive handling. The engine is an OHV Northstar, which is nothing to sneeze at.
The interior is incredibly plain. Nice, but plain. But some people like plain.
Is it me or does that shiny nav thingamabob look like a computer generated image. It looks cheesey to me. The rest of the car is nice though.
JM
The Northstar is OHC not OHV.
