Cadillac Ballistiq.

Celestiq, Optiq, Lyriq, Vistiq. Why not go all the way and imagine a new Cadillac Ballistiq?
Not a crazy $340,000Celestiq sedan no one (only 25 produced so far) will buy. But a new coupe. One that shows Cadillac can also come up with a crazy-looking narrow window design like the new Jaguar 00 concept. But not as shocking or disturbing.
Something that will get noticed by everyone without having people screaming “What the hell is that?”
The CT5 sedan still sold almost 15,000 units last year. That’s even a few more than the previous year. That market isn’t completely dead and Cadillac knows it. Since they are working on 2 new EV sedans to replace their current aging models. A new coupe wouldn’t have to be that popular to make a bit of money. But especially, to get noticed.
And again, not priced like a Rolls Royce or a Bentley. Something around $100,000 would have no problem finding a few buyers. And at least, many more than a few hundred. Which is what GM expects for the Celestiq.
BMW and Mercedes don’t offer as many 2-door cars as they used to but they still do. The new Mercedes CLE starts at around $68,000. I think there is still room for a larger and more impressive sub-$100,000 Cadillac model.
The new naming structure for Cadillac EVs sounds like it came from an illiterate or someone who can’t spell: Celestiq, Optiq, Lyriq & Vistiq. The Escalade.IQ name attempts to follow the brand’s heritage. The 2-door CGI, if it were ever to become real, should be called Eldorado.IQ. Bring back the old name, VW seems to be doing that.
Cadillac said at the outset that they only planned to hand build 50 Celestiq sedans per year.
This rear end look for Cadillac is getting stale already.
I love the concept. I’ll take 2. One Green the other Blue
