Cadillac Fleetwood.
Last Updated:

While Cadillac is indeed working on two new sedans, none of these will end up replacing the old Fleetwood.
These new models will be based on the Ultium platform and will replace the current CT4 and CT5, even though the larger version will actually be larger than the CT5.
A new Fleetwood would be the largest Cadillac sedan available besides the Celestiq, but for much less. It would still be expensive, but probably priced at under $ 100,000 to be competitive against the Mercedes EQS or the BMW i7. And not trying to be a Rolls or Bentley, like the Celestiq.
The Fleetwood was one of the most luxurious cars the Cadillac ever made over the last decades. The “Fleetwood” name was usually added to a more mainstream sedan like the DeVille.
In 1993, the Fleetwood became a specific model, based on the Cadillac Brougham platform. Which dated from the late 1970s, Deville. The 1993 Fleetwood was quite a modern design when it came out. It almost looked like a weird production version of a Syd Mead design from some angles. And the master illustrator himself drove one for years.
The Fleetwood courageously held on until 1996, with sales shrinking every year. By that time, a giant RWD sedan from Cadillac wasn’t what people wanted anymore. The CT6 and XTS were on their way. And especially, the truck-based Escalade. Which somehow ended up ruling the whole Cadillac brand and became their best seller, year after year…
A new Fleetwood sedan would be a Cadillac return to a market they abandoned years ago. A market that has been shrinking ever since…
With so many AI postings out there, I’ll believe it when I see it in the showroom!
I agree, Dennis. I was just wondering, how many different versions of each model are there??!!
I will say, the several I’ve seen around and about are stunning beautiful!
I would like to see a plush, comfortable interior with a true Cadillac ride. I’m so tired of the leather wrapped everything, the me too cars. AND NO BLACK ONLY INTERIORS, which everyone’s seems to be going to. Black dash black carpet, black headliner. With a medicine of color on the seats, how boring!
Show room with a sticker tag or bust.
I bought a 1977 a 78 Coupe DeVille they had style.Cadillac is charging Too Too my for their cars,I can get a big conversion van for less.I have been waiting for Cadillac to come out with a new coupe, and I would truly like to have one but not at those prices
Cadillac is heading towards extinction with plans to be all-electric. NOTE TO CADILLAC: America doesn’t want or buy electric vehicles. That was part of the new green scam that was quickly done away with. Expect Cadillac to be no more, once they go all-electric. Times are changing and Cadillac doesn’t seem to be onboard. General Motors as a whole, has always refused to listen to their bread-and-butter customers and this time, it will be fatal. That’s why Toyota overtook them ad the largest car company in the world.
I HAD 1 ELDORADO, 4 DEVILLES, UP TO 2003.STYĹE.JUST MAKE A CADDY OLD SCHOOL WITHOUT THE COMPUTER (58 CADILLAC CAME WITH EVERYTHING. $13,00.) HAPPEN?WHAT
I will be happy with a 4 door Sedan
Bring back the Cadillac Fleetwood at a lower price
I’m a true Cadillac man! But that car would bore me. No curves just straight lines. One of the major reasons why the Rolls Royce and Bentley brand is so successful is because they have curves and hips.
Just leased a new Lyriq, owned a long list of Caddies & Benzes. This car is stunning inside and out. Multi material interior, best seats period.
And it’s a dual motor setup,. That hauls the mail!
Give it a look, Caddilacs sales areup significantly last two years!
Gas, electric and hybrid without any government regulations is the only way US manufacturing will live. Green laws by ignorant government non engineers is death to Americans well being.
The Cadillac Fleetwood model reaches back to the 60s, often with a brougham trim designation. The “Fleetwood” model name was dropped in the late 80s because the “Fleetwood” was a big block front wheel drive car and the “brougham” was a rear wheel drive small block car.
Interesting side note, the front brake pads remained the same for most of the years in production. The front pads on my ’96 were interchangable with the front pads on my ’68.
And I’m not certain because I don’t own either of those anymore, but were probably the same as my ’89 brougham.
If you are going to claim to be a car site, you should probably get input from car people before you post car posts.
Fleetwood was top of the line, most certain. But spent more years in production than the Honda crv you drive.
“The Honda crv you drive”??? What makes you think I drive a Honda CRV??
I got my dad’s 1994 Fleetwood 350 base model love old iron 275000 miles no way I could afford a new one at that these prices love the look though
I have seen 50 versions of this automobile.
Believe when I see it at the dealership with brochure
