Tesla Cybertruck: new photos…
Last Updated:
Last night, billionaire Elon Musk had a big party at Tesla’s new factory in Texas.
They didn’t show anything we haven’t seen before. Except for the (production-ready?) Cybertruck.
We have seen it before in a few spy shots. But nothing official.
It was on display at the new factory last night.
If that’s not 100% production, the prototype above is the closest thing to the real truck we’ve seen so far.
It has rearview mirrors, headlights, and yes, the huge windshield wiper. Looking like a clumsy temporary solution that could become permanent.
As for the design, I’m almost getting used to it. Like they say: “At least it’s different”…
As usual, we got the “next year” promise. The concept was unveiled in 2019, and we’re now being told it will be produced and on sale next year.
We’ll see…
I love how it looks like it's paper thin material, has massive gaps, and isn't even uniform at panel gap spots.
That looks objectively terrible. The wheels do not match the vehicle at all; they made no attempt to hide the wiper under the front cowl; the bumpers and wheel arches look like they've been fabricated by some amateur (in design not necessarily build quality), slapped on as an afterthought.
This design did not translate well into a production model.
Is this supposed to look this unfinished. Why are those massive gaps everywhere? Why is the material look like it's paper thin? This looks horrible. How could any of the investors at this party think that this look like a completed model. It looks like a joke. The wheels don't even match.
