Huyndai just sarted production of the all ew 2007 Santa Fe in its US factory.
Here are pictures of the 1st “saleable model” as they call it.

I am really curious about this one…

  1. Looks like Hyundai has joined the ranks with all the Asian manufacturers and has decided to lower the build quality of their newest vehicle by using parts manufactured in North America! Cheaper parts means more profit for them and Bigger headaches for the consumers! Recalls will be numerous! Just when the Korean’s were catching up to the Japanese build quality this had to happen! Next project for Hyundai, ‘Mexico’.

  2. I agree with post one about quality, but my intial response seeing it at the auto show was that it felt very nice.

  3. While GM and ford are busy firing cutting benefits to subsidise the latest behemoth SUV, Hyundai is building cars in American that people actually want to buy. What a concept.

  4. If you are relatively successful, then you will probably purchase or lease a quality SUV. Like Nissan, Mazda, etc. You certainly won’t spend good money on a Hyundai….Bad for image, you will be viewed as a cheap asshole in a korean car.Don’t do that to yourself. You shouldn’t settle!!!Do you want to pull up to any event in a Kia/Hundai??….I don’t!

  5. Obviously my dickless friend, you work for Kia/Hyundai, no-one else would ever admit to what you just said, WOW!

  6. 2007 Santa Fe Production Begins

The new redesigned 2007 Santa Fe will definitely boost Hyundai sales year-over-year over the existing model as well as give Highlander and Pilot competition.

This vehicle was well thought out and quality designed. Hyundai’s market share is growing and trending upward in the U.S.

More and more consumers are starting to learn through word-of-mouth about the quality strides that this manufacturer has been making hence their increasing sales.

The earliest date for availability is late June or early July. So far this looks like it will be one nice ride.

  7. Hey Wako Jako, are you paying attention? This is a scrap built korean car, You also are a kia/hyundai employee. So tell us Korean supporter, how come you can’t get an air conditioning compressor for a 1 year old sonata for 2 months, in FLORIDA of all places. This product is ready for the scrapyard as it exits the assembly line as seen in the pictures!

  8. Giacomo Pionier, what is your problem? You seriously have some issues. People usually buy good cars for one reason. Because THEY ARE GOOD. This Hyundai Santa Fe looks like a real winner and it will help the millions of Hyundai owners worldwide look less like “assholes” as you call them. Don’t worry, your insecurities about Hyundai will only grow with their continuing success.

  9. hey morons,

i drive an acura, but we shouldn’t bust down hyndai like that, i mean, look, honda and toyota used to be seen as the laughing stock in the business, now look at them! give hyndai another 5-10 more years, watch and learn…

  10. Hey I own 2 Hyundais, one Elantra and one Sonata and I resent being called a “cheap asshole.” And no, I do not work for Hyundai. I first bought the Elantra and I loved this car so much I bought another Hyundai and in the future I will probably buy another. You my friend have never owned a Hyundai, so stop speaking for the many drivers who own these great cars without regret.

  11. Double hyundai owner, hey you actually admit it, don’t resent being called what the rest of the word IS calling you, resent when you can’t get the many parts you will need for that tinny garbage. Yuk! I can’t imagine even getting in one, you have to get into two, OUCH!

  12. Hey Vince, you let hyundai/kia owners actually post. Well, I guess you might as well, so we can have fun with them. Some of these people actually think that no one is laughing at them in those cars.

  13. looks like theres a lot of illiterate sons of bitches who post on this blog vince may they need to learn the spelling of cars before they open their mouth

  14. Are you idiots ready to laugh? I sold a Honda Odyssey EX to buy a Santa Fe LX model. This has heated leather seats, six disc in-dash cd player, homelink, auto dimming rearview mirror, keyless entry, and climate control. With those features, what did you fools pay for your Acuras & Nissans? I bet it was a lot more than I did. In addition, I get a 10 year 100k mile warranty. If you have money to throw away because you have to drive a certain car then you really do have issues.

  15. ’07 Santa Fe Sales Strong
Just read an article through Topix and it reports that Hyundai Santa Fe is selling well in Europe.

I hope the fact that Santa Fe is selling well doesn’t offend any Hyundai haters.

  16. Personally, I used to like Hondas and Acuras, but then I started to car shop. It seems to me that a lot of brands are moving faster than others. The Hyundai and Kia brands are getting better, and getting better faster. Honda it would seem has plateaued.

The Hyundai Sonata, I don’t care what any of you will say, is a better car for most consumers than a Honda Accord is. The Sonata is as safe (if not safer), is more comfortable, MUCH better looking, performs better (as average consumers will use the car), and is priced fairer. The Honda Accord is not $5000 better than a Hyundai Sonata, that just isn’t the case. Also, the added value of buying a Honda is gone on me considering that Hondas are the easiest cars to steal and break into, and are the most often stolen cars, so they have extremely high insurance rates. For instance, if I quote myself on a Sonata versus an Accord, the Accord is 30% more expensive any way I look at it. Plus, Hyundai resale value has gotten better. The Santa Fe and Tucson both get four out of five stars from the ALG Automotive Lease Guide…that’s equal or better than competing Honda models!

So…In the grand scheme of things, this is a battle, and Hyundai is winning. It just isn’t that clear to all of the infantry men (the stupid ones) yet.

  17. Hey you dumb bitches. Hyundai is here to stay. All you idiots said the same thing about Honda and Toyota when they came out “ohh its so cheap, asian cars”. Now they are the most respected and are best sellers. Its fine if you don’t like a car, but dont be a dumbass.

  18. looks like theres a lot of illiterate sons of bitches who post on this blog vince may they need to learn the spelling of cars before they open their mouth

    ————————-
There only following vince’s lead he cant spell worth a damn either or make complete and coherent sentence’s.

  19. WOW. Relax everyone. Kia/Hyundai are entitled to sell cars, and people are entitled to buy them.

I’ve had crappy experiences with Hondas, and friends who have had nightmares with Toyotas. So maybe I will consider a Kia or Hyundai next time. Or maybe not.

A car doesn’t make a person great or an idiot.

Are there blogs out there where people are jerks to each other because they bought one brand of TOASTER instead of another?

Maybe we could actually learn to respect each other no matter what brand of car they drive. We CAN share opinions without being jerks to each other you know!

That Hyundai driver could be the Emergency room doctor saving your wife’s or kid’s life when they have a car accident. You gonna stand over them and call them an A**hole then?

  20. hey kids, maybe you don’t remember, but take it from me, for those of you who believe that acura/honda is great, my 2003 Acura 3.2Tl Type-S has a little problem. The 5 speed transmission likes to shift from 5th to 1st gear above 70mph. This has happened to me once. Acura/Honda recognized the problem and issued a massive warranty extension on their transmissions. One would think that they would update the design so that the replacements dont fail, but sadly no. The replacements fail faster than the original transmissions. Look on any acura forum and see how many owners of 99-03 acuras with 5 or more transmissions. so much for japanese superiority.

  21. yo, hyundai is really a great brand. even though i dont drive one now, i used too. now i drive the accord coupe and it has more issues then my elantra had. and the sucky shit is that i dont have a 10yr warranty no more. n also the parts are fuckin pricey for hondas. Hyundais are more economical n they’re good cars. period. im sick of this hyundai bashin’ shit. get a life bytches and suck it up. HYUNDAIS HERE TO STAY!

  22. I have to give it up to Hyundai,..Because this thing looks a lot better the RDX. Don’t worry, I am an Acura lover, infact I’ve gone through two TLs. I hope the new design studio will do for Acura what Lexus’ studio is doing for them, because until now all Lexus had coming out were photo shop Merceds.
One more question for you guys bad mouthing Honda, why did Hyundai shopped the rear end of the old Accord and pasted it on theirs?
I know Hyundai is doing well and maybe will become a great force, but for now I will never compare a Hyundai to an Accord. The only car that has been nominated as the best by Car And Driver for the past 18 years. No one has ever come clauser except the so-called Ultimate driving machine (BMW 3series).
Hyundai has a lot of step to climb before I can consider one. They would have to beat, VolksWagen, Toyota, Subaru,Nissan then all the other Americans, and maybe then we can have a fair fight. Guys remember, Hyundai is not the only one improving, the Accord(Honda) is always 5 centuries ahead of the competion. Well maybe not in design. LOL!!

  23. The Hyundai Sonata, I don’t care what any of you will say, is a better car for most consumers than a Honda Accord is.

    -Maybe…if you’re on a budget atleast.

“The Sonata is as safe (if not safer), is more comfortable, MUCH better looking, performs better (as average consumers will use the car), and is priced fairer.”

-Not as safe in the side impact test according to the IIHS. Plus, the Sonata’s seats are not as comfortable.

“The Honda Accord is not $5000 better than a Hyundai Sonata, that just isn’t the case.”

-True. But you do get features like LED gauges, LED taillights, a higher-quality interior, known reliability, and dual-zone automatic climate control. But yes, it shouldn’t be 5K more.

“Also, the added value of buying a Honda is gone on me considering that Hondas are the easiest cars to steal and break into, and are the most often stolen cars, so they have extremely high insurance rates. For instance, if I quote myself on a Sonata versus an Accord, the Accord is 30% more expensive any way I look at it.”

-Pure BS if I ever read any.

“Plus, Hyundai resale value has gotten better. The Santa Fe and Tucson both get four out of five stars from the ALG Automotive Lease Guide…that’s equal or better than competing Honda models!”

-But it’s still not equal to or better than Hondas. Just check out KBB and then we’ll talk.

  24. Are you idiots ready to laugh? I sold a Honda Odyssey EX to buy a Santa Fe LX model.

-I know I’m ready to laugh!

    “This has heated leather seats,”

    -So?

    “six disc in-dash cd player,”

    -So?

    “homelink, auto dimming rearview mirror,”

-Other mainstream makes use it too.

    “keyless entry”

-Welcome to the 1990s my friend!

    “and climate control.”

-Eh, it’s not dualzone on yours.

“With those features, what did you fools pay for your Acuras & Nissans?”

-I’m a fool for purchasing an Acura…a TSX to say the least!?! Wow, I didn’t know that a Hyundai comes with higher JD Power ratings, dual zone automatic climate control, LED gaugues, HID headlamps, navigation, 360-watt audio system, and a better dealership experience! I guess all of us are just blind huh…

“I bet it was a lot more than I did.”

-Obviously, since Acura is a tier 2 luxury brand.

“In addition, I get a 10 year 100k mile warranty.”

-I can afford to trade in a car every 4 years.

“If you have money to throw away because you have to drive a certain car then you really do have issues.”

-Not really, since Honda tends to have higher reliability and quality than Hyundai, though Hyundai is catching up.

  25. “Look on any acura forum and see how many owners of 99-03 acuras with 5 or more transmissions. so much for japanese superiority.”

-I’m a member of many car forums, like CarSpyShots, GMInsidenews, Cheers&Gears, VTEC.net, Acurazine, and more and this is the first time I’m hearing of owners with 5 or more transmissions for those Acuras! We all know they had that awful 4-speed transmission failure and that Honda Motor America was slow to react, but I haven’t read of people trying a new transmission 5 or more times!

  26. And BTW, I do like the new Santa Fe and Azera. I root for Hyundai more than a I do Ford! I’m just not buying how a Hyundai is better than a Honda…because that’s only because of its value factor.

  27. dont forget, the accord hasnt been restyled since ’03. even though the ’06 hyundai sonata is nice, its gonna look pretty crappy when the ’08 accord comes out. if hyundai released their new sonata years ago, i think it would have established a better name for it self and people wouldve respected hyundai more. its very hard to compare the two. The accord is untouchable, even when comparing it to an altima or camry. and one more thing, hyundai should definitely think about releasing a sonata coupe.

  28. I’ve own a hyundai before and now dring a honda
To be honest, I’m regretting sellin my hyundai for a honda

  29. “There only following vince’s lead he cant spell worth a damn either or make complete and coherent sentence’s.”

For someone who’s quick to criticise others’ mistakes, you sure make a lot of your own! LOL

Vince is a name and needs a capital letter.

Can’t is an abbreviation of can not and needs an apostrophe.

And the plural of sentence is sentences, without any apostrophe at all.

  30. “I’ve own a hyundai before and now dring a honda
To be honest, I’m regretting sellin my hyundai for a honda”

I’d regret selling a Hyundai and dringing a Honda too! Whatever ‘dring’ may be, it doesn’t sound too flattering…

  31. I have a 2001 Accord. I’ve had electronic problems and have replaced the trasmission a couple of times. The first Honda dealer I took my Accord to tried to downplay the transmission problem. The second one was kind enough to replace it. The second transmission worked better but I still had shifting problems. I’m crossing my fingers with the third one. I’m almost at 100,000 miles, so if this one goes out, I’m screwed. My friends with the Sonata and the Santa Fe didn’t have too many problems. After all the problems I’ve had with the Accord, I’m seriously considering buying the 2006 Sonata … but the dashboard area needs work.

By the way, my friends are medical students and they bought their Hyundais because the 10 year warranty will cover them until they finish residency … when they can upgrade to BMWs.

  32. whoevery the idiot who said that about hyundais is an idiot. Do you read car and driver. hyundai they believe hold up very well. They just did a long term review for a sonata and they didnt have one problem with it. There long term tests means they drive the car for 50000 miles. No recalls or repairs. They like the santa fe they feel that one of the best but a little bland for there taste. i just lease a santa fe for the winter. i owned bmws mercedes audis volkswagens infinities and a few jeeps. I love all the german cars i still own my audi and touareg and they are great. I love the santa fe it was a great deal and it built much better than a infiniti or jeep. Hondas and acuras are great cars expessially the accord its in caranddrivers top ten best. Sorry for you and your car. I personally dont like them i think they are boring cars them and toyotas. BMW is definetly the best there cars drive much better than lexus but lexus are still very nice cars. Hondas new 2008 accord is BETTER looking than it was but it to big now its the size of a chysler 300 thats huge. so who ever the ignorant guy who thinks hyundai are badly built is wrong cause they just think since there built here they bad go to car and driver .com and read the reviews then make your decision low life.
