Saab designs

Last Updated:

Here is a picture taken inside a Saab design center.
That illustration in the back looks great. And Saab already announced their intentions to compete with the new TT.

But what I notice the most is that glass of wine in the foreground.
Whatever it takes, GM seems to be giving designers everything they need to come up with cool Saabs.

Good for them.

  1. The best thing I want to see from GM is that it starts to concentrate all resources to Chevrolet, Cadillac, and Opel. It should forget all other rubbish divisions till its financial situation is as good as Toyota. GM can survive without a good Saab, but it will die if it looses Chevrolet in North America

  2. i think its a glass used to clean paint brushes (notice the water colours) rather than one for alcohol.

  3. I doubt designers wear suits and ties while painting (or ever, probably more like jeans and Birkenstocks). Seems pretty “put-on” to me.

  4. I must agree; it’s the paint bucket. With watercolor, it’s essential. If that were wine, it is more of a fruit punch color.

  5. I agree with MKK. GM should kill Saab which is a waste of resources.

Whatever ninny designed the Chevy Cobalt should have had wine, paint wash water or something before creating the boring POS that can’t compete with anything in Cobalt’s class.

I’d like to see GM succeed, but the lower primates running that outfit seem to have a death wish.

  6. What kind of fuddy duddy designer would wear a suit and tie? And I hope that wine glass is for cleaning his brushes, because no adult with any sense should drinking a blush.

  7. Who cares about GM.
Sell Saab to someone who can actually manage a division. Saab is a better mark than all other GM shits put together.

BTW, for thoise of you who have no idea what a design studio is, designers do wear nice clothes while at work. Maybe not ties all the time, but certainly dress shirts/pants, etc.

GM: Give Saab as much money as they need to make their cars. Do not embaress them with pathetic re-badges of horroble prihistoricly engineerd cars such as the Trailblacer.
Do with Saab, what Ford has done with Volvo.

I beg to differ. They never look like slobs, but designers generally wear more fashionable clothes. Suit and ties are for the salesmen and accountants. Which perhaps explains GMs problem.

  11. I beg to differ about that being a glass of wine on the designer’s table. It’s next to a set of water colors and by the looks of the color of the liquid in the wine glass, I’d guess he’s dipping his watercolor brush in that WATER.

But it is nice to see GM is keeping Saab a very Swedish design….I mean that guy does look Swedish, right? LOL
