Lancia CC

Last Updated:

Lancia is getting a small hardtop convertible ready for fall 2007.
It will probably be based on the Fiat Punto, and designed by Bertone.

Anotherone we won’t see over here.
Unless Alfa gets its own version of the car….

  1. Too much of a Punto here, would be a loss for Lancia’s imago. On the other hand it looks mighty fine 🙂

  2. Too much of Punto? Well, i ´m not sure as there is no Punto convertible, and the front end looks totally different.

Also, the belt line is not straight,as in the Punto. ANyway, the Musa is more or less identical to the Fiat Idea and didn´t harm the image but is rather a success.

My only concern is that a small CC iself doesn´t really suit Lancia, it would make a better Fiat.

(And i´m convinced there will be no Alfa out of that – at the moment, Alfa and Fiat don´t share plattforms, just engines and components)

    WRONG!!!

  4. There was a Punto Mk. I COnvertible, but there is NO Mk. III (and was no Mk. II) COnv. Just some concept cars, but those are not from FIAT!!!
    So nothing wrong!!

The car couldn’t be sold as a Fiat — Fiat Auto S.p.A. is on a mission to better diversify it’s brands. While Lancia has always been the red-headed stepchild of the group, it IS supposed to be an upscale brand. Fiat can’t make money on a CC hardtop designed and built by Bertone if they sell it as a Fiat — the numbers don’t add up. But if they sell it as a Lancia they can charge more for it and make money on the product. Look at some past stories from Italiaspeed.com — they laid it all out.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with the car sharing parts and platforms with the Grande Punto — Fiat is really good at this and can usually make each variant look unqiue enough for each brand. Even the next “Stilo” (they may drop the name) is supposed to share it’s underpinnings with the new Lancia Delta and the Alfa 149 (the 147’s replacement).

  6. Mate, the picture you possted IS the concept car (and actually just a photoshop) and by no means an official Fiat car, trust me.

So it´s you who is wrong (and fiat plans no Punto CC as they´ll have that Lancia)
