One good looking concept.

This is a gorgeous car. Considering they haven’t released the New Elantra hatchback, it would be possible that they might replace that with this. I think that would be a good move because the Elantra hatchback sells really well.
beautiful
This is a beautiful car for the masses and much needed in the USA.
I must be seeing diff pix – front: I am soooo over Audi-VW gaping grilles. Back: just bizarre… “
i think the back is absolutely hideous.
Um, Um, Um, Um, interesting back.
What’s with the back window on this abomination? It looks like a gun slit.
Quite a daring design. Really stands out. An impressive bit of work, even if the doors borrow a bit from the Iosis.
As a 5 door, it looks odd( large front doors, shortened rear, look too close to the back of the car).
If they made this a similar design scheme to the the old Elantra GT, but maybe kept the front end…then there might be more hope for it.
It’s ok, but isn’t this “crossover” fad market starting to get crowded yet?
Why don’t they just build he HCD-8 and get it over with. have 5 versions: 1 a hatch, 5 door, 1 a 3 door FWD hatch(like Accent 3 door), 1 a real sports car, coupe…RWD/300HP, 1 AWD coupe(same car as RWD, but 2 more wheels of power) and a Sonata Coupe!
Quit messing around for 2-3 years(this ED/FD..etc, has been bouncing around in various forms at autoshows), on the net, for 2 years… either build it, or let it go!.
1 thing Hyundai needs more than corssovers in USA is Trucks!
Nissan’s sales are about 40-50% trucks~for example.
This company has the balls GM and Ford lost. Good job, Hyundai.
The more I look at it the uglier it gets, not a good trait for a car. Hyundai just doesn’t get it – it takes a long time for a car company to develop its own design language that really connects with the masses and translates into consistent sales.

well, what is your idea of design, at 15-20K price range? Corolla?
Cobalt? Caliber? Sebring?
I just dislike waogns that looks , well, like wagons(like ’em mor edisguised, like the 5 door reno, looks liek a coupe, or the now defunct elantra gt, looks liek a sedan, in design, and of course the HHR and Cruiser look nothing like a “wagon”).
For a “wagon”, though, this rocks.
Sure beats looking at the Matrix or Vibe!
The rear looks like a pumped up BMW 1-Series, to me. I think the thing looks awesome. One day, Hyundai will have an amazing product lineup.
Looked up 2007 Avante, and got a site that said there will be a 2008 GT Elantra: is this it(if the report was true….kind of a fan site).
Tried to find it again, but…..
If they keep the general idea(shape) of the car, make it 3 door(or 5) but rear end like the GT Elantra Was(before they discontinued it…sort of SAAB-like) then I’d consider one.
