Next Citroen C5

Last Updated:

And we might actually get it.
Citroen is planning a return to Canada within 2 or 3 years and maybe even the US shortly after (Although I still don’t believe it…)
So this next version of the C5 (illustration above) might end up over here as an A4 competitor.

We’ll see….

  1. Looks good. Remindes of a Honda CiVic in the front. Couldn’t we just go to Canada and buy one if/when Citroen comes to Canada?

  2. WOW!!!!! Very nice and different. American streets would look really nice with this driving around.
I hope they are well made and I hope to see inside shoots. Now only if the French get their heads out of their asses as far as their political view points, their might be a better future for them here.

  3. J.H.C. That front is horrible. Theoverall shape is ok – but the choppy, zigzag, taken WAYoverTheTop, over-styled… YUCK. Thing is, the recent subtle use of Citroen’s doublechevron in the grille is cool – this is just completely tooooooo much!

  4. Their “political point of view” just seems to differ from ours about the Irak war.
They are pretty much un line with the rest of the world on that. And actually, most Americans as well…

People shouldn’t mix cars and politics.

  5. “People shouldn’t mix cars and politics.”

Does that mean no more inane, politically-slanted comments about SUVs?

  6. I like it. Sporty and different than anything else, right now. In 2 to 3 years? Maybe a little update?

  7. The French, for the most part, are not against the war in Iraq or the soon-to-be war with the Iranian freak Mullahs. The French population is approaching 20% musslim so they have to speak as though they are against it. The french riot at a drop of a pin and like to burn things. They are like children throwing a tantrum when Mommy/Daddy Gov’t wont give them money for chewing gum.

The car looks nice… More competition the better.

  8. Looks beautiful. Suggest you wait for the US versions, or you’ll have to replace the baguette-holder in the dash yourself. HA HA HA!

Also, you can’t drive this car more than 35 hours per week due to the labor laws over there. They’ll need to remove that restriction.

And finally, all new Citroens bought in October come with a free “French War Heroes” book….. it’s a 2-page brochure.

HA HA HA! I’m just playin’ y’all.

    They shouldn’t, but they do.

Presidents shouldn’t confuse national securtity and weapons of mass destruction with Iraq.

    But they did.

  12. Awesome design, thats one of the few fresh designs I’ve seen. Too bad its just a chop, not an actual design.

  13. Wow! Beautiful! Sadly, the quality of French vehicles remains on par with Korean vehicles. Champaign yes… anything mechanical, no way.

  14. LIKE SOMEONE MENTIONED EARLIER…THE CAR IS NOT REAL…IT IS A PHOTOSHOP OF A PASSAT BODY AND A CITROEN FRONT

  15. Citroen are masters of making “needlessly different” desirable. I’d love to see them make a full assault on our shores and I think they would be atleast somewhat successsful, but I don’t think they’ll do it.

Probabaly drive a Cobalt, used!If you want Long term reliability, go look up the 02 long term tests for JD, and others, from 2005, Hyundai was no 2 with Sonata(and #1 for midszied sedan on link above, for BEST midsized sedan of 2006! If you get any dumber, you’ll forget how to breathe! This car rocks! bring it on!Beats all the bland#$%^&*( from Japan, Big 3, or about anywhere.

I know this is not a Hyundai thread, but I feel the need to respond to the above… Actually, I was referring to Kia, which is at the bottom of just about every survey you can find. As for your reference to Motorweek’s “Driver’s Choice Awards,” I won’t disagree with the Sonata being listed as one of the winners. However “most improved” would probably be a more accurate award. However, I will strongly disagree that a 2002 Sonata should be one of the most reliable, as listed (3rd place) in the 2005 JDP reliability survey. The 02 Sonata was a horrible car and any five year old Hyundai from back then sounds like it’s got an engine full of marbles. I would also question the Malibu and the Alero taking the 1st and 2nd place spots for the entry midsize category.
