2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Last Updated:

The Grand Cherokee is pretty much obsolete.
And such minor changes aren’t going to improve things.

The Diesel might help for those who really want one.
But the terrible ride, old looks and horrible interior are still there…

  1. Vince,

Didn’t the do a recent update about 2 years ago?
I think the new Liberty which is based off the
Dodge Nitro might grow in girth and perhaps replace the Cherokee altogether.

  2. It’s still just an SUV/mommy-wagon for wasteful people who refuse to buy a car for their daily needs when a car would suffice.

Furthermore, check out the pathetic reliability of the Jeep brand, er, “legend.” Daimler/Chrysler can’t even build a $75k Benz that’s reliable. Why think they can build a $35k Jeep gas-hog any better?

  3. Test drove a new Jeep Grand Cherokee with the HEMI engine… and it is fast for what its suppose to be.

BUT the interior lacks in quality, so much that I can say the sole reason not to buy this Jeep is because of the interior.

Then, the next thing you’ll notice is the cheap chrome around the window and rear end. Simply put, it is BUDGET in quality.

But then again, this is a relatively cheap SUV*
    right?

*If you don’t count the Japanese and European rivals that is.

Wow, where have I heard this twaddle before? Of course if you buy some of algore’s “carbon credits”, you can drive one all you want.

And I own a Jeep® Grand Cherokee, and I’ve never noticed the “terrrible ride, old looks (?) and horrible interior” described here. Plus it’ll tackle off-roading like very few other SUVs. I should know, I take my 2 Jeeps® off-roading a lot, including on the Rubicon.

  5. To the 7:45 poster: Why do you and your ilk feel it’s necessary to continually disparage those of us who drive SUVs? Just because you don’t like them doesn’t mean we all should. Perhaps you should aim your indignation at those beloved environmentalists of yours who claim their “carbon credits” and “carbon nuetral lifestyle” (whatever the hell that means) preclude them from having to change their wasteful lifestyles.

  6. I’m not an environmentallist, but how can justify the gas of this thing. With a Hemi, and everyone goes for the hemi, it gets 13/18 (new standard, that’s the same as a suburban 6.0L. I’d buy something more fuel efficient. that’s just me though.

  7. I’m the one paying for the gas, so you needn’t stay up at night worrying about it. Instead, try to justify how some hollywood elitist can preach about “global warming” at the Oscars, than drive around Rodeo Drive in something like a Bentley or a Lamborghini that gets worse fuel economy than my Jeep®. At least I put my Jeep® to good use.

  8. I own an 07 GC Limited, and love it. The interior is great, and the ride is fantastic. The quality is 100 times better than the current liberty. Much quieter as well. I dont have the hemi, I have the 4.7 V8. You environmentalists should be happy that we are guzzling gas. The sooner we use up fossil fuel, the sooner we switch to alternatives. I am doing the environment a favor by guzzling that gas.

Jeep is happy. So are the oil companies.
