Sure, it looks nice.
But still, to me this seems more like the next generation Lexus GS than a Jaguar.
I guess that’s what the market wants.

We’ll see….

  1. Ford really put Jaguar in the wrong direction and might cause more harm if people don’t like this car
and also if they sell it to the freaking Indians.
Is this a curse of former colonialism?
    The Britons are doomed.

  2. Seats and buttons betrayed Jaguar&Ford’s cash strained status. I can almost sure that it won’t drive as nice as Mondeo or 5-series, nor it will be as stylish as A6. Why you want to buy it against the upcoming E-class and its other competitors?

  3. Jag has to do something besides what it has done the last 30 years. This seems like a great product for them. Great looking outside and inside. I particularly like how simple they keep the cockpit. This will sell like hotcakes, at least compared to what they are doing now.

  4. In these pics XF not look unique enough to be a Jaguar. I’m not sure how it will become a sales success.

The most popular selling Jags have always displayed unique exterior and special, even beautiful interior designs.

XF is very modern and sharp looking “pan international” design, not distinctive enough to demand the attention a new Jaguar should get.

  5. WTF? Ford has fudged it up once again! The front looks like the old Hyundai Sonata had been grafted on. The production version lost all the grace and refinement in its design! Somebody help Jaguar by buying it from its bad parent Ford!

  6. Yeah its OK, but its not a Jaguar. This would make a good Lincoln though. At least the LCD screen doesn’t come out of the top of the dash like a tumor as in current BMWs and Mercedes. But man could they have left the floor shifter in?

  7. I see the Jag-ness, more so on the inside but the exterior too. But what’s with the headlights? The circle in the middle looks terrible, as it does on every car that’s tried it.

  8. That’s one HELL of a sexy cat!!! I do miss the old look of jaguars and those classic lines but this is very well done

  9. Let’s be honest, this is a stunner that has finally broken away from the conservative styling of Jaguar’s past. I’d also guess that like the XK, it is more gorgeous in person than in still shots. This represents a giant leap forward over the S-type and the interior is ultra cool with new lighting techniques, a pulsing shift knob and other new tricks…

  10. i love the thick chrome around the windows on the exterior and the slabs of wood in the rear passenger compartment.

very nice but also very generic. it could be any car if you take the jaguar badge off. but hey, lexus built its reputation on well-finished if excetionally bland designs for years until recently.

  11. Wow, what a nice Ford
    can someone please tell me
    why ford always seems to
    blend its companies designs.
Its beginning to look all ford like.

    Mazda=ford=jag=landrover
    what a shit company

  12. this looks like a ford taurus mixed with a porsche cayenne. In other words, terrible and a huge disappointment, but expected from the lowest rung of luxury vehicles, jaguar and land rover.

  13. The car is beautiful! The young kids postng their comments on this board can continue to insult the car, but unless their parents buy them one, they are never going to set foot in one.

  14. The front remind me of a Volvo S80. Overall just as someone mentioned, the styling lack the distinctive look of previous Jaguar. A disappointment after such a wonderful concept. Hopefully my judgement will change after seeing it in flesh.

  15. I think it’s a decent effort after the bungles by ford…and to the “freakin indians” comment below…shove it…

  16. You dont see Aston Martin going Volvo/Buick/Lincoln, do you?
It is way modern than the DB5 from the Bond era
and it still maintains the Britsh-ness. And this is from the same designer who designed this Jag. I don’t mind Jag going all out modern, but the rule is that it must still be a Jag. The fenders are too flat and the lights look to generic. I would have also made the grill more mouthed shape.

  17. Jaguar has been different all these years and that formula doesn’t seem to work anymore, especially the X-Type and S-Type. So this is a breakthrough for them – ordinary.
Can any body tell me how the Jaguar-Drive transmission work?

  18. One big reason people buy Jaguars is because they *look* like Jaguars; this car looks like anything *but* a Jaguar. I wish them luck. They’re gonna need it.

Exactly, you have to remember who is plunking down 50-75K for this car. Not one of those people are going to put spinners on the wheels, decals on the paint, spoilers on the back etc etc etc This car is elegant, with on of the best interior designs. Simple with probably great materials(we will have to see).

  20. I have to laugh. Jaguar gets criticized when it is too conservative in re-styling, then it gets criticized when it tries something completely new. Jag needs this. I’ve owned several and am a loyalist, but lets face it, people weren’t buying them anymore and the “old world” style was a constant critique.

I’ll buy this one in a heartbeat. You couldn’t pay me to take a 5 series, an E-class or an A6 over this.

  21. It’s a nice looking sedan, but not a nice looking Jaguar. The back end looks a lot like the Renault Laguna coupe Vince posted recently.

  22. The chattering thirteen-year-olds are complaining in full force. This car is hot and will sell like crazy. Period.

  23. “this looks like a ford taurus mixed with a porsche cayenne. In other words, terrible and a huge disappointment, but expected from the lowest rung of luxury vehicles, jaguar and land rover.”

I bet you think the Mercedes CLS is a gorgeous car.

For all those who feel similarly to this guy, just remember, jaguars are for the classy, so all you haters need not apply….

  24. It’s amusing to see someone call any Jaguar critic a chattering, classless thirteen-year-old, hater.

You’re either for the new Jaguar design or you against us. Sounds a lot like the Fox News of automotive design.

Lovely car, but not a Jag. That’s the issue.

  25. To those of you ridiculous “you are either for or against the new Jaguar design” people:

Would you rather the company die? They need something like this. And for all you people who complain that the 5 series or Eclass is better, good … go drive your Bimmer and Benz. The rest of us dont’ drive them for a reason, they’re not what they’re cracked up to be.
