2009 Sonata Movie

Last Updated:

Here you can really see what happened between the current model and next year’s refresh.

I really like the new interior, but as far as I’m concerned, they ruined the exterior. Making it look like the Azera.
What is the point????
More chrome isn’t the answer. This is what Korean car makers were doing 10 years ago.
I guess old habits are hard to get rid of…

Now, if they could send me the software that can transform this woman into my girlfriend….

  1. Hyundai’s ad is excellent in showing how the car was changed–for better or worse. Certainly, the interior has been hugely improved.

Anyone shopping for a mid-sized sedan has so many worthy choices: Accord and Camry, of course, but also the new Chevy Malibu, Altima, Mazda 6, Aura, and Sonata are worth a look, among others.

Too bad Mercedes created uglies in the newest Sebring and Avenger cars.

  2. It’s funny how you can see what looks like the American Sonata grill for a split second during the transformation….

  3. With the exception of a rotten interior, the current Sonata is the only decent Korean car. It really made people think that Hyundai finally understood good design. It’s clear with this upcoming update that that was just a fluke.

  4. I wouldn’t be sure about the whole chrome business; apparently this Korean version of Sonata already used to have chrome around the bumper along with dual-chrome grill before the refresh, so it is probable that 2009 US version would get modified with less chrome or something.

  5. Agreed.. it is a rarity that the US and Korean versions of Hyundai vehicles share the same grilles.. so I would expect something different for the US. And what’s up with the taillights being left exactly as is?
