That’s pretty strange. Usually Mercedes either completely redesigns their cars, or give them these super mild mid-cycle refreshes. This looks like a “big refresh”. With an all new front. Not sure but the interior looks new too.
Seems Mercedes wants to CLS-ilize all its coupés. Weird!
The current front end makes the car look like crap, this is much much better.
Front end looks like a Saturm/Opel Vectra.

The front end especially the grille looks bad. The old one looks a lot better. this grille looks like an ebay-buy.

This car needs a total overhaul. Chiefly, the fat rear end needs to go on a diet. Most hard-top convertibles have the same problem, but the SL has always been particularly lumpy looking.
Please tell me this is a Chinese version of the SL. This new front is HIIIDDDEEEEOOUUS! BARF! OK I think I made my point.
