This doesn’t look official.
But there a rumor about Honda working on a small minivan ( a mini-minivan) based on the new redesigned Fit.
So I guess this could be it. Or not….

  1. WHAT is it with Honda and UGLY??? …I haven’t felt completely good about their ‘styling’ since… since… …the original CRX(?)

  2. What’s up with that hideous dashboard? The cobbled together look is so disjointed it’s laughable.

  3. that is cool as! But Honda aid won’t bring it.sedan would be the only variant of the jazz if any

  4. The good part is that this car would have made a wise financial decision for the american consumers seeing gas price is what europe had back in the early 90s. however the id of the american consumers still want big gas guzzlers. just look at the mazda5. a perfect vehicle for a family of 4. however it is not doing too well here :(. a family of 4 here wants a pilot, a yukon or for goodness sake a n escalade!

  5. i’ve wondered the same thing over the years about Honda…’what are they THINKING??’ they make beautifully built cars that handle well, neat-o engines, but I haven’t seen many North American model Honda’s that i like since the 80’s. sad, since i used to be such a Honda fan. looking forward to new Fit, tho.

  6. Just bring the freaking CrossRoad here already since waiting is driving me nuts and cant stand looking at the Element!

  7. Vince, This is a very close illustration of a current design intented for the U.S. and Canadian market. It will fit in between the CR-V and new Pilot but will billed as a new breed of ‘SPACE MACHINE’, not a crossover and not a SUV. It will seat up to 7 and have a huge 82 cubic feet of cargo space with the center and rear seats folded. Power will come from a retuned 2.4 liter 4 with 181 horses and 172 lb. of torque. A six speed standard transmission and a five speed automatic will be offered. The Element will disappear as the Prelude and Insight did without a direct replacement. Honda hopes this will fill a void for families who need more room than the CR-V offers and can not afford the high price the Pilot commands.

  8. Spring 2009 is the projected date for North America. We certainly could use it as soon as possible though, since new fuel prices demand such a vehicle for families on a tight budget.

    When will the Element dissapear?
I have an 08′ E and love it. Any more info please.
I hope kills the E so I can have an E for a long time.

  10. Plans are for the Element to carry on through the end of the year. A 2009 model will debut in August(with a couple of color changes)but it will be the exact same vehicle as the 2008. Leftovers will be around for 3 or 4 more months in 2009 and then it be indirectly replaced with this new platform Vince has posted here probably around May 2009.
