It’s alive

Pictures of the new Opel Insignia at a dealership. (At least that’s what it looks like)

Still looks great. Even better than the PR pictures…

  1. Kinda sucks how the chrome strip at the base of the front and rear door windows doesn’t even line up. It’s a minor detail that stands out like a sore thumb.

    Nice design, though.

  2. WHAT?! No front fender vent? I thought that was the law in car design these days. Maybe the US-version Saturn will have it.

  3. Simply beautiful. Each time i see that sweeping c-shaped character line i put my hand on my inner thigh…

  4. Beautiful car! It’s got the best interpretation of the BMW Banglebutt that I’ve seen so far. I look forward to seeing lots of these on the road. It will do very well.

  5. Does look a bit funny in the first picture the way the c pillar and boot drop down.
Looks heaps better in the second picture.
Just when we thought the bangle butt trend was over…

  6. looks like an altima, but i like this better. i bet this drives much better than the camry, by the way…

  7. Why not get a Camry? There’s a very good reason for not getting a Camry – at least for Opel/Vauxhall buyers – I don’t think its sold in Europe anymore (and definitely isn’t offered in the UK).

The Camry might be a perennial best seller in the US, but it never really caught on in Europe, and did particularly badly in the UK, where it usually struggled to shift more than 1,000 units a year.

  8. The Camry did not sell in Europe, because the winding roads there do not favor soft suspensions. The Camry for European standards is big and floaty.
