Next Mazda3 ?

Last Updated:

I reader sent me these.
Not sure if this is the real deal or not. It sure looks realistic.
Actually more like a concept version of the next 3.

This would be a great update of the current design.

  1. If you look closely on the inside you can see those rear side windows are actually fake… I actually don’t like this look either.

  2. Not as jaunty as the current model, but it is still attractive…except for those ridiculously large wheels.

Too bad there isn’t a mazdaspyking to tell us all we’re wrong about everything. 😉

  3. mmmmm, i’m gonna say fake, or maybe concept version. tho there are details that follow Mazda’s recent concepts better than some other 3 renderings i’ve seen lately (which looked almost the same as the current model)

  4. Nice, can never have enought 5 door hatches or wagons.

Chances are it would never look like this. Picture this with plastic wheel covers on 15 or 16 inch rims and 1 tailpipe and a place for US plate in the back.

  5. how are you seeing inside?

I think the design and images look legit, but the wheels look like they’re very out of date and like nothing we’ve seen from Mazda. Otherwise I like the look.

  6. That is pretty nice!
if this has AWD, the Impreza and EVO will be in deep water.
When will this thing arrive in the US?

  7. Fake, Concept, fragment of my imagination? It doesn’t really matter does it? That thing looks friggin’ AWESOME!

I’d drop my Mustang for that beauty in a heartbeat!

  8. Good car with lousy rear visibility.

Any car with a painted rear quarter window (Sebring, ’09 Mazda 6, etc.) is cheapened by that tawdry styling mistake.

  9. It is real, but these pics were not supposed to be released till next month…someone’s in big trouble

  10. “how are you seeing inside?” if you look at the first picture, you can see where the rear door’s windows end (passenger side). It comes to a screeching halt, meaning that black triangle is none other than our favorite false window plastic….just like the sebring…WHY?!

  11. I’m sorry, but besides the front end, this looks like a Hyundai, possibly the result of a one-night stand with Subaru.
The side creases and wheels are quie ugly aswell.

  12. A little too much flame surfacing and the rear-window extension is a tacky visual trick. Needs a better wheel design. I like the tail and the profile. Overall this design is a good evolution of the current Mazda 3.

  13. Change the rear tail lights to a vertical stance and slop the windshield a few more degrees and you have a close proximity to the smaller all new 2012 Honda CR-V.

  14. The current Mazda3 sedan and 5-door are beautifully styled cars (I have a Mazda3 sedan as my daily driver and I love it); both versions have purposeful lines and an appropriately sporty stance. The hideous monstrosity in the pictures is an awkwardly executed train wreck of polarizing and undesirable design cues. I truly hope this is someone’s misguided attempt at speculation and NOT anything truly representative of the next generation production version. If it does represent the future design direction of Mazda, I will no longer be a fan of this auto marque.

When I look at these pictures, only one word comes to mind: YIKES!!!!!!!

  15. Fake or not, bring it on! It looks great in these pictures. Some of the bloggers are out of their mind. Can you find a better looking econobox on the road today?

  16. It looks great to me. I agree with the other blogger, Mazda has some of the best designers in the business.
