  5. This reminds me of the PT cruiser convertible……uck! Iff it was April instead of August I would of thought this was some jacked up April Fool’s joke. Damn Nissan instead of dropping the top on this why not the Altima Coupe?

  6. at least they are being somewhat original in making a convertible suv when everybody else is removing the center back seat off their midsize econo-family car and calling it a “4 door coupe” competitor against the CLS

    and it kinda remidns me of the PT cruiser convertible

  7. But seriously why an SUV? Why not the Altima or Maxima? Hell, why not the Sentra? WTF?

    Can you imagine a Ford Explorer convertible? Maybe if they had a two door truck like the old Blazers, Broncos and Ramchargers and offered removable hardtops, it would be cool.

    Won’t it just make the vehicle heavier? And who has money these days to buy something as abstruse as a convertible SUV? It loses whatever utility it may have had but retains the bulk and inefficiency? WTF? Plus its not a pretty car, it looks like an overfed chernobyl baby that was beaten with the ugly stick.

  8. my first impression was that of the VW Thing (WWII Nazi staff car) – what a horrible design from Nissan. They must be joking!

  11. I agree with you, it looks like a PT Cruiser. I loved that Chernobyl bit, too. 😛 I’m still scratching my head over the Murano convertible thing. It makes no sense whatsoever.

    The Altima coupe would have been a better choice. Speaking of which — Nissan Spyking, where the hell is the Altima convertible? I’ve been waiting for almost 2 years since the picture was leaked! 🙂

  12. Imagine the cowl shake on this THING. Maybe the Nissan designing team was watching the BBC show TOP GEAR when those guys chopped a minivan into a convertible. That was hilarious! This is not.

  13. In addition to all the body flex, or extra weight from the reinforcements, where’s the top going to go? There’ll be little to no room for stuff with the top down.

  16. I like the idea of a 4 door convertable, maybe not the Murano’s styling, but a 4 dr is interesting.

  19. I love that I was beaten to the VW Thing reference three times over. It looks like the futuristic, enlarged, streamlined version.
