2010 Chevrolet Equinox

Last Updated:

The current Equinox seems to almost have disappeared.
I don’t know anyone who would even think about it. Weird…

I guess it’s really time for a new one.
This next model will be the Saab 9-4 X’s cheaper cousin.

Let’s hope it’s small and light enough to get the 2.4 Liter from the Malibu. I don’t think the market is too crazy about compact Crossovers with big 3.6 Liter V6s anymore…

  1. According to GM, it will have a new 2.3L Direct Injection 4-cyl, which sounds like a very good thing. Then, of course, the optional V6 like the Vue.

The Vue has not done well and most people consider it a pig in current form, so hopefully this–albeit with the same guts–is much more successful. The Equinox is still an extremely popular vehicle, so it should continue.

  2. The new Equinox (spy photos have been all over the web) will look nothing like the Saturn Vue, with the exception of the headlights. And as derek pointed out will offer either a DI 2.3L 4 (which sounds like a nice engine) or the 3.6L V6 (which is a nice engine). Hopefully GM shaves off a few pounds.

  3. The V6 is also new. Both will have class leading power and fuel economy vs. other small CUVs with 4 and 6 cyl engines respectively. The interior is fantastic and will blow all others away.

  4. I can’t wait to drive the new 2.3 Liter.
Wonder if it’ll pretty much replace the 2.4 Liter.

The 3.6 is always nice, for sure. But pretty thirsty, like all other engines of that size.

  5. Headlights to close to the vue GM is back to 80s and 90s badge engineering, they need to do a tasteful re-badge like they’ve done on the lambda’s.
