BMW X1 concept

Last Updated:

A concept. sure…
This is pretty much what the small 1 series BMW X1 crossover/SUV thingy will look like when it shows up next year.
And i think it does look a bit weird, and boring at the same time. It has the awkwardness of the new 7 series in front, while retaining the same profile as the X5. A very boring and quite unattractive combination if you ask me.

But who does.. Really…

  1. AWFUL!!!!
Just…WTF. Looks like the product of a second-rate Chinese company.
If this comes out unchanged and people buy it, it will be definite proof that people just buy the badge and don’t give a fuck what the car looks like. You could stick a BMW or Merc badge on a turd for all they care.

  2. That looks terrible. It looks like they tried to ape the Infiniti EX, but ended up with something worse.

It’ll be smaller than the X3, but still cost $50K.

  3. Wow!I actually love this car. Good job BMW! It even has a little of the new 7-series flavoe in the front. I know may of you all may not like it. I love it….BMW will sell plenty of these this is a sure fire hit!

    Don’t kid yourself.

Loaded, this will cost over $50,000 for an SUV smaller than the Hyundai Tucson. The current X3 is smaller and has much less interior room than the Honda CR-V.

I don’t get the point of this vehicle at all. The size difference between the 1er coupe and 3er coupe is almost none. This is going to be a slightly smaller X3 which retails for almost the same price.

You mean the turds they’ve been trying to sell over the last decade?

  6. Even Iranian cars look nicer than this.

The new 7-series looks awful with its goldfish style front.

  7. Plain ugly. Too much “let’s build a smaller X5” (itself ugly and struggling with identity. new 7 series dull as dishwater too. BMW really devoid of style at the moment.

  8. This is a horribly misguided design.. particularly the rear quarter, where they tried to ape the new 7-series “shadow” crease around the d-pillar window that then angles down toward the door, ENDS where the bodyside slash crosses through to the taillights, then REAPPEARS as a downward sloping dent in the lower doors! That is completely banal and unnecessary detailing.

This looks like nothing more than a pricey Toyota Matrix, IMO.
