  1. Oh god…. Are you f-in kidding me? Nice cataracts tail lamps. Are those wheels 13 inches? Each car Toyota makes is nerdier than the last. I’m sure they’ll sell millions of these turds to environlemmings, but Prius hybrids, with hundreds of pounds of nickel cad batteries, are more environmentally destructive than full-sized SUVs.

    There will always be critics whether its a honda insight, toyota prius or a chevy volt.
    These vehicles are a threat to the critics because they dont use enough gas.
    USA = approx 4% of the worlds population.
    USA = approx 25% of the worlds fuel consumption.

  6. in response to the moron who decided to print USA= 4% of the worlds population and USA= 25% of the worlds fuel consumption. If you use your mind for a second, you will also see that the USA accounts for 25% of the world economy, so we need the fuel to keep the world from financial collapse. The reason we are number 1 in the world is because we gets stuff done fast using the resources we have to optimize productivity. I hate liberals who vomit statistics that mean nothing.

  9. You guys can argue over world statistics but the bottom line is that I would not buy this car. It just doesn’t appeal to me. I wish they would make a hybrid that looked good.

  14. The prius has always been a different looking vehicle. But if you look at the success of them it would be a mistake on toyotas part to drop the model or change it too much. Toyota and most other car makers have added hybrid variants to their standard models ie toyota-camry, ford-escape,nissan-altima, etc. But none have found the success that the prius has had.
    I myself arn’t in the market for a prius or hybrid, maybe in a few years time.
    So i guess it is the distinction that makes the prius recognisable as a succesful volume selling hybrid.

    You can get MANY other fuel efficient cars and not drive with a message.

  17. The Pontiac Aztek rear glass looks almost as good as it did on the Aztec. And by targeting eggheads they’re sure to sell like hotcakes no matter how overpriced it is or how dangerous those batteries are in a collision. (What was GM thinking when they targeted “car guys” with the underpriced, practical Aztek??)

    Its all about american greed.” Thats right; and there’s plenty of healthy happy people living enviable, meaningful lives on 500 calories a year and $1 a month wages everywhere except America ( like in Ethiopia, Afganistan, Nigeria, most of the former USSR, the factories in China, Mexico, Brazil, Lebinan, Palistine, and pretty much every county that doesn’t have a Disney park. Who even WANTS a CTS or 320M ???

  20. The Prius is a political statement more than something people want to drive. That is why Toyota have kept it very similar to the old model.

    ( A guy from a local Toyota Engineering centre told me they are the cars left in the pool after the others are all gone ).
    Meanwhile I will drive my four litre twin cam turbo petrol engined SUV and anyone who dosn’t like it can bite me.
