Hyundai Genesis Coupe pricing.

Last Updated:

The 210hp 2.0 Liter turbo will start at $22 000. That’s right.
While the V6 will begin at $25 000. Both with a 6 speed manual.
A 5 speed auto is available on both for an extra $1250.

For $22 000 you also get 18 inch wheels, remote entry, leather steering wheel, 6 speaker stereo with iPod/USB jack and bluetooth.
I would call this a bargain.
The $24 250 premium model ads power seat, Infinity stereo, push button start, sunroof and even navigation (available later)

While all V6 models come with leather.Black. Unless you get the Grand Touring V6 where you get their brown leather. That will cost you $27 500.

I think they could have a hit on their hands.
Sure, this is not quite an Infiniti G37. But a similar RWD G37 Coupe will go for almost $43 000.

I think this will hurt plenty of models, from the Mustang to even the Infiniti.

  1. Wow, this is ugly. Disappointing considering the Genesis sedan is somewhat attractive. It just looks like a slightly bigger Tiburon. No one likes that one……I dont see this one selling much better. There are alot better and attractive options at the $25k pricepoint. Ford and Infiniti have nothing to worry about.

  2. Whether we like it or not, Hyundai will not make inroads into the so-called luxury brands any time soon. I think that the positive reviews, especially of the recent 4door Genesis, precede the change of buying habits by several years. Personally, I think that it could compete very well with the 2 door Accord and Altima. Those that buy an Infiniti or Lexus partially do it for the perception of the brand. And I cannot see it competing with the Mustang either. Different cars. I can see the Mitsubishi crowd looking at it seriously though.

  3. Yes, 4:27pm, but many people are in the market for a Lexus or Infiniti until they either get declined due to credit ($$$) or they find out themselves that they’re short a few grand. This car could be the answer.
Years ago I saw this brand becoming better and better every year and I said that in about 5 years it was going to be competing with the big boys. Everyone at my car forum laughed at me. Who’s laughing now?? Good job Hyundai. I might even consider a Hyunday for me next car.

  4. I guess they forgot about people who hate leather. It is hot in the summer and cold in the winter, and starts cracking within 5 years. Not a car I would consider if shopping for a coupe.

  5. I dont know why anyone would want this over a Mustang or Camaro…Maybe because Hyundai will be around a while and Ford/GM wont.

There isn’t even a single styling cue left over from the current Tiburon? What are you talking about? If you are referring to the fact that it has four wheels and two doors maybe it does, but then all coupes would. What a moronic comment.

Can you please tell me what better options there are for a RWD vehicle at this pricepoint? The Mustang certainly isn’t one.

I agree with your points. But, did you notice that you ended up by saying “might consider?” This is what Huyndai has to overcome. It is not there yet. It is second or third best for now.

  8. People need to stop the BS. If it had a Honda or Toyota badge people would be creaming all over themselfs. 25 grand for 300HP, 100k warranty and people are still dissing? Hyundai bashing is getting old and tired.

  9. Gee, a Base Mustang vs. a Base Genesis. A gass hog of a 4.0 V6 vs. A lighter on the tank 2.0 turbo 4…Hmmmmmm.

Remember how the Lexus SC got pushed out of the market? That’s right, everyone for got about that! So anything is possible and the Genesis has the potential to hurt MANY coupe reputations.

  10. Hey Yukkk…
You’re absolutely correct! Every Automotive Trade Journal, Consumer Magazine, Editor and even JD Powers and Associates has tested the new Hyundais and agrees that their cars are total GARBAGE, junk, trash, cheap!

    Oh wait, NO they didn’t!

And remember, don’t drive too far in a straight line- you’ll fall off the end of the earth, OK?

    Okay, now that was funny.

    Get over it.
This thing looks like a previous model nissan skyline coupe, but with a weird shaped window behind the driver and passenger doors and a weirder front end.

  13. It might of hurt sales of other vehicles, if it didn’t have such a horrible interior. 31k fully loaded does not justify a cheap interior such as that.

  14. I will be the first to admit that I will never own a Hyundai. They sucked so bad for so many years that I’m not going to give them another opportunity to screw me. While all the pubs raved about the current Sonata, I found it to be complete trash. The Genesis sedan looks like a ten year old Buick. BUT this coupe is simply stunning and if it’s as good as it looks, it will appeal to a whole new generation.

  15. Hey Anonymous….oh wait, Anonymous is Anonymous. When u man up with a blog name, then feel free to direct comments to me. Regarding the coupe and hyundai styling in general… u can try and put lipstick on a pig, but its still a pig.

  16. whos that homo Mike Dog? who calls themselves that anyway. Picking fights, man up, how about grow up Mikey and get out of Moms basement. When you get a drivers license then we may value your opinion. Get a real name

  17. All this dissing is crazyness. Finally a company is coming out with something with enthusiasts in mind and it’s dissed because it’s a “Hyundai”, never mind how far they have come.
With enough support a good car can turn into a great one. I think this quote sums it up the best

“Here it is, enthusiasts: an affordable, rear-wheel-drive coupe that isn’t a Mustang. Now go out and buy it or you’ll never see another one ever again.” — Ed Hellwig, Lead Senior Editor Edmunds

  18. The Camaro is a better looking car, but this is a business and the only thing that matters is profit, not a bunch of mullet heads stating uneducated opinions. By next year, GM and Chrysler stock will be so low, Hyundai could by both of them. With the burden of huge health care cost and pensions there is just no way American car makers can compete with foreign automakers.

  19. Oh my! If I lived in the States, I could almost afford me one! Incredible pricing compared to European prices. I can’t image this car sold under 30.000 euros (that’s about 37.000 dollar) right here.

    Really, what’s gone wrong?

  20. Homogenized Mike, you’re awful sensitive there…. who’s the homo? Didnt mean to hurt your feelings if you have to drive a hyundai. Actually, Im a CPA, own a house, and drive an X5. Mike is my name. GA is where I live. And DAWG is slang for the mascot from the University I graduated from (University of Georgia Bulldogs). I’m kind of a college football fanatic. That’s how we roll in the South. Any other questions Dumbass?

  21. Chrysler does not have stock since it is a private company but that shouldn’t stop the uneducated.
