next Saab 9.5

Not sure if that picture was modified or what.
But it doesn’t really look that exciting.

The top of the line Saab should be stunning, original, maybe even controversial.
Let’s hope the final product looks better…

  1. Why bother throwing money at this dead brand? GM is wasting resources by continuing to pound sand down the Saab rat hole.

  2. Saab's concepts, the 9-X Air and Aero X, got my attention and so far these camo'ed testers are keeping it!

Maybe I'm reading more into it than I should, but this looks more & more sleek with every spypic.

Anyone one know when the official reveal will be?

  3. The shape reminds me of a Citroen DS the way it narrows at the rear.

It’s also a lot like the 9x Air concept from last year, which can’t be a coincidence.

IQuack, Saab is the least of GM’s worries. They are the only GM brand to retain market share in the US over the past decade. GM should think about why customers are fleeing their other brands like rats from a sinking ship.

  4. Saab would make a cool small premium boutique vehicle brand to compliment Cadillac’s role as GM’s flagship luxury brand. AWD versions of the Gamma/Delta platforms combined with turbocharged engines could be utilized to create these vehicles. A 2-seat 3-door coupe based on the AERO X Concept could be built on AWD Gamma. A 4-seat 3-door coupe based on the 9-X Air Concept (without the convertible top) and a 4-seat 3-door wagon based on the 9-X BioHybrid Concept could both be built on AWD Delta. These vehicles would transform Saab into a much cooler version of Mini.

With Opel/Buick moving upmarket and Cadillac expanding its portfolio, there is really no need for Saab in its current form. Transforming the brand in this way fills a niche in the auto market where GM is currently absent. Saab has the quirkiness and premium perception to pull it off.

  5. Don’t really think the motor industry has room for niches when it can now barely survive with its mainstream stuff.

  6. it is amazing how much your perspective changes depending on where you live. Saab is a major brand and a highly sought after car here in New England. Those of us here are looking forward to a revitalization of the brand after poor mismanagement by GM. With so many new variations coming -including a new 9-3x (similar to the Audi Allroad), I have high hopes. I love having a choice that is cool, fuel-efficient, super safe and great in the snow. Keep up the good work Saab!

  10. Buick sells better than Saab…These are just expensive nothings that the NE Elitist Parasites like to own.

  11. Looks pretty good to me from this pic. I hope they use the three spoke wheels also from that black series or whatever it’s called on the 93.
