All new Jaguar XJ?

Last Updated:

This is just an illustration done from the only official picture we have so far of the car.
And it does match pretty much everything.
Unfortunately…

The whole thing seems gimmicky and pretty weird.
Far from the classy look Jaguar should have.

Let’s hope that, somehow, the real thing looks better.
That painted rear pillar alone makes it look like some cheap Chinese design…

  1. The image is a little off, I think the side view at least is somewhat skewed. I think it’ll look more like the current XF, which is not a bad thing at all. That car is downright sexy in person. The XK, too (driving around Palo Alto CA for work means I see a lot of nice/expensive cars frequently; saw a 599 last week and a 612 on Sunday!). Personally I’d tweak the headlights on the XF and XK but back to the issue at hand, I think this is close but not the real thing. $5 that the real thing will probably look better.

  2. I think that you can be rest assured that the real thing will look MUCH better than this lousy XF-based chop.

  3. That looks like the front of the XF melded to the rear of the upcoming 9-5 (as seen in pictures)…hope this is not the actual car!!

  4. jags need to look like jags. they need to swoop down and in at the back and have high haunches or else, they look like the beautiful Nissan Maxima, but not uniqly Jaggish.

  5. Strong hint of the “Sedance” prototype from the early 70s. Early 70s?? Retro can be good, but not from the 70s.

  6. That’s one hell of a rear overhang. I hope this isn’t an indication of what we can expect from its Indian owners.

  7. I like it personally. Something different.

And it’s a complete revolutionary 180 from 40 years of XJs based on the 1968 car, which is long overdue.
