Next Hyundai Sonata interior

Last Updated:

This is shaping out to be a very nice looking car.
Competing more with the Mazda6 than with the clunky looking Accord.

I guess it won’t be long before we get much better pictures of the new Sonata.

  1. With the exception of the feeble design of the clock, the dash looks similar to the CTS. That’s a good thing. The steering wheel looks horrendous, which is a bad thing. I am unimpressed with the current Sonata and the Genesis sedan. (the genesis coupe, however, is very cool.) So I guess we’ll see about this next Sonata.

  2. I’d get a Sonata over an Accord any day. Nothing says “I am an abused lifeless tool” quite like a man in an Accord.

  3. If anyone over at Honda is reading this they should brace themselves for the biggest crash in their entire corporation! Acura is going to fall very soon and Honda needs to realize their insecurities are very real and not a fantasy! They can no longer rest on their past reputation alone without offering more cutting edge product! Hyundai is already leaps ahead of trailing Honda’s ignorance.

  4. Slamming the Accord is a form of envy of a car that is and will remain the standard for this market segment. Looks only go so far, and when the warranty is expired and the payment book is not, that’s when the Accord shows its real beauty.

  5. Guys, keep in mind that the plastics in this are pre-production and don’t have any graining (i.e.- steering wheel) and it will look much better once it is complete.

I think it looks fantastic so far. I can’t wait to see the finished product.

Couldn’t agree any less, and I don’t even drive an Accord or a Honda. I’d say that award goes to anyone in a Camry or Corolla.

  6. Cool; the hyundai’s actually lookin to be more than competitive!

I actually like wat dis model looks like its gonna be!

  7. The Accord isn’t clunky looking IMO. It’s not racy nor can it be to be comfortable in the back seat and have decent rear visibility. The swoopy styles might look better, but they’re harder to live with and the Accord is ideal for most sedan buyers. The new Mazda 6 looks good, but that painted phony window in the “C” pillar makes the Mazda 6 look like cheap crap. Stylists ruined it!

Honda’s ignorance? Last time I checked they are still one of the most reliable manufacturers that you can buy a vehicle from and have the best resale as well.

My girlfriend has a 2009 Sonata SE. The Accord is ahead as far as quality and overall feel goes.

This is not to say that the Sonata isn’t a great vehicle, it is, but it still isn’t at the Accords level. I would say that it is about 7/10ths of the way to an Accord.

    This guy is right.

  9. Honda/Acura all the way. Hyundai will remain a poser to those of us that know you get what you pay for.

  10. The perfect car for those with a credit score of 600 and below. So I suppose we’ll see these tragedies with missing hubcaps in every low rent cull-de-sac very soon.

Hyundai isn’t the same car company as it used to be.

I know plenty of people who chose to save money by buying a Hyundai over a BMW. One of my companies directors drives a Genesis which replaced a 530i.
