2010 Audi A8

Last Updated:

The A8 is one of these cars that just gets redesigned “once in a blue moon” (The current one came out in 2003) and the “new” one always looks pretty much the the same as the “old” one…

  1. As far as flagship sedans go, the current A8 was revolutionary when it launched six years ago. The previous A8 was always in the sidelines compared to the 7 series and the S class. It is unique and stately. This rendering, not at all.

    If that’s accurate, I don’t like it.

    I REALLY don’t like it.”

I am with this guy. I hate the new A4 and Q5 too. I think it is a hideous vehicle.

The A5, TT, and R8 are a different story though.

Too bad that it is a VW product. That means horrible reliability. Our companys CEO had a 2004 A8 and it was flatbedded out of the parking lot three or four times. He now has a S600, never seen a tow truck.

  3. I think this looks amazing; aggressive front end with subtle sculpting along the sides. From this angle, possibly the first time the A8 beats the 7 series in the looks department.

  4. I doubt that’s it….at least I hope not. The A8 is always one of my favorites with its UNDERSTATED styling and beauty. This looks like an overstyled A4.

I have an 04 S4 with 60k on the clock. No problems whatsoever aside from a flimsy cupholder that sprung apart.. Two buddies have Audis, no problems. I know there are stories, but for some reason the quality issues are more pronounced in the US than they are in Europe, where VW/Audi quality is ranked very high.

That said, this A8 design is not sexy at all.

    Revolutionary in what respect???

I almost NEVER see an A8 in my area (the most wealthy county in the US). I do, however, see many S class and a handful of 7 Series.

  7. Good luck trying to sell that.

People who buy this level of a vehicle want something mature and sophisticated. Not something that looks like a clown car or something that came out of a comic book.

    That grille is a joke.

  8. Did Chris Bangle go to Audi? Looks like someone is out to make Audi's face look as bad as a BMW's tail. Looses the classic simplicity of the previous model.

  9. It looks like an overgrown A4, and not in a good way since that isn't an attractive vehicle either.

I don't see this being a competitive vehicle, just like the generation before it, and the generation before it, and so on.

Audi is not a premier manufacturer in my mind. They are all reworked VWs with a bloated price tag. Nearly $50,000 USD for a nicely equipped FOUR CYLINDER A4. They are nuts.

  10. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    *takes a breath*

    HAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAHAHAH

Does Audi actually think that someone is going to buy an executive saloon that looks no different than its baby brother?

Sorry, I think this is really funny. What an awful looking saloon.
