2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
Last Updated:
The picture on top is the revised model.
I posted a picture of the current one bellow.
So we can see this is yet another useless “facelift”.
It doesn’t
really look better or more modern.
Different, just a bit.

I wouldn't consider another Hyundai no matter what they do to tart them up. But I will say that, while the update isn't very substantial, it does look good.
Just a new front bumper and a set of wheels, nothing substantial..
I can appreciate the fog light setup, but boy, the grill on the revised model is really tedious and uglier than the current model.
I think they should throw the "fake" refresning skills back to Honda where it belongs!
wow….FUGLY…I thought the last one is ugly…..
Well…I had thought the same about the new Lexus RX, when I saw the pictures. To my surprise, when I finally saw it in person, I thought that the pictures did not accurately reflect reality. Three dimensions is always better than one. No?
I think the new RX actually looks worse in person…
Is the US actually getting the facelifted Santa Fe? We're not getting the facelifted Accent, and like the Accent the Santa Fe is going to be replaced very soon.
If you look close enough you will see the lower door body side protective molding on the current model has been eliminated on the refreshening. Also the cheaper to manufacture body color painted grille reflects just some of the cutbacks in store for future Hyundais.
Vince, how do you NOT understand the point of a MMC??? Don't you deal with cars day in and day out?
A refresh will help sales pick back up.

You are an idiot.
It costs MUCH more to produce (and replace) a painted piece versus black plastic. What in the hell are you talking about????
Also have you thought that maybe it is the trimline that doesn't have that garnish at the bottom?
Please give up.

Hey Vince, the previous RX looked like an egg. The new one shows stature. Looks more well planted on its feet. And what about those aluminum foil tail lights. Eh?

To paint a grille body-color is an extra production step. Having all of the grilles be the same color of molded black is cheaper.
A mid cycle refresh is intended to updated existing vehicles with the design language of their newer models. And it simply allows a car maker to have something to say about their vehicles when really there isn't anything newsworthy.
Overall, this update is pretty mild. I've driven (rented) one and it's not an impressive vehicle but it's good for a Hyundai.
the funny thing is that the revised front now looks even closer to a chinese copy named ,,Huanghai Qisheng CUV'' which came out some years ago

I had one as a rental and I really liked it.
I'd take a Santa Fe over everything else in its segment except for the CR-V.
Black Plastic Moron???? All Sante Fe's have chromed plastic grilles which are far more expensive to manufacture that spray painted plastic!
Anyway you look at it, a painted grille looks like some kid did a half ass paint job over the weekend just to cover up some minor damage to daddy's car!

Uh, Looks like black plastic with chrome trim to me. Whether it is black plastic or chrome, it is cheaper to produce one universal component. It's generally more expensive to produce many different variations. That's 101-level stuff. Dolt.

Not in the US, chief.
It is a chrome trim piece on the higher trim lines, which is STILL cheaper than a painted grill.
Give up, you are an idiot.
